even the great nick saban had the ULM loss his first year at Bama with future national championship tallent. that being said, the coaching in this game was atrocious. hopefully this will be a HUGE learning experience! who knows what the future holds for us.

this title should say a W is a W, not a win is a win... because this was not a win, but it is a W in the record books.

Please stop comparing Dooley to Saban. From the day Saban stepped foot on campus, he has been recruiting the lights out. Dooley so far has been recruiting to La Tech's level.

The coaching has been atrocious?

Can you explain to me what to do when you have to rotate in a walk-on freshman DT? Or maybe can you tell me what to do when you have open TDs and Simms under throws guys and WRs drop balls? Can you tell me what to do when more Freshmen are on the depth chart at OL than upperclassmen? Can you tell me what to do when you blitz, and your LBs are slow and small and can never put pressure on a QB? Can you tell me what to do when your best CB is a guy that was playing WR 2 months ago?

To say the coaching is atrocious is severely misguided.

A win is a win. No matter if we won by 50 or 5. We'd be 2-2 either way. Let's hope Dooley and the staff can learn a lot from this game and prepare us for next week. They have a lot of work to do.

We are the luckiest team in college football today. No doubt about it. We are TERRIBLE.

Check the yardage and plays that UAB had and get back to us.

Well, not to be pessimistic here, but 2-6 at the end of October is better than 1-7, I guess.

getting kicked in the mouth by uab and winning in 2ot > getting kicked in the mouth by uab and losing.

i respectfully disagree and here is why: Tennessee should be able to start a freshman quarterback bray, freshman running back, neal, freshman receivers hunter and rogers, and a full offensive line of freshman and dominate UAB. to go scoreless in the second half, to have every drive result in 3 and long, and to never convert one single third and long through almost the whole game, that is poor play calling.
our line backers are slow and small compared to UAB? maybe compared to SEC tallent, but wilcox scheme was aweful today. we were atrocious on third down, which is almost all coaching. we gave up a ton of huge plays, which we obviously weren't ready for.

you could tell dooley was EMBARASSED on tv talking after the game, and he left the stadium with his head hanging down. i felt bad for the guy. he knows that game is on his shoulders, chaneys and wilcox.

I missed it...what happened?

Our defense was on the field for 59 minutes.... Simms waited for the the defense to know exactly who he was trowing too and then gave another shout out...here it comes...ready...ok...they missed like 5 FG...we did get ONE frist down converting our only 3 down conversion...Moore made a catch that was an act of Gawd to keep VOl Nation from crashing...:)
