A win is a win but I want to be brutally honest

I'll never understand the "Oh we a 5-1 we are fine" crowd... Who have we actually beat that is decent? What good is 5-1 when we haven't learned from our mistakes and keep failing to produce better results on the defensive side of the ball. 3rd down was an automatic conversion last night, no matter the distance they needed.

We will get manhandled this week by players that are equal to or better talent. Sunshine pumpers can enjoy 5-1 and beating up on SEC jv squads. It's big boy football time now, will the coaches have the prepared and ready to go?
You don’t think we have a shot?

We have some studs on the D-line, which makes it really disturbing how bad we have been overall on defense. We might have the worst safety tandem in the SEC with Turrentine and Farooq honestly. We lost Jakobe Thomas to the portal and didn’t replace him with anyone? I’m just not sure how anyone can watch our defense and not think Tim Banks should be fired. Once again i’m glad we won but it’s getting really tiring of the holes being wide open in our defense and getting gashed in the run game/ not containing the QB. From week 1 until now our defense has not only looked bad, but i would argue they are getting worse each week. Go Vols

I just don’t see this team beating AL, FL and OK. Hope I’m wrong.

LOL, sounds like you just need to stop watching sports in general if this is your outlook.

Farooq isnt the problem. He is playing like a stud right now. Especially for being a freshman. Caused a key turnover in the game tonight. I just dont know how we are getting gashed like we are in the run game. Thats what concerns me the most.
Farooq is the worst tackling safety Ive ever seen in orange. Epecially one on one, he's toast

We play a crazy fast offense. This forces our defense to be on the field more plays. I see an opportunistic defense that gambles. I think the finger pointing at our defensive coaching staff is ridiculous. They didn't forget how to coach after last year. We could use more quality depth/experience. In today's football, less teams can horde depth.
I’ve supported Banks.

And you’re absolutely WRONG.
No offense. He screwed himself this offseason by not going after anyone to replace Thomas or Charles in the safety rotation.
Or
Transfer Portal for DTs after losing 3 (5 year college players)

He had 2 TRANSFER PORTAL CYCLES, before and after Spring Practice to try and get at least 1 safety and 1 DT. But…no.

This is on Heupel too.

UGA has been the gold standard the past several years. Playing Auburn tonight, they got dominated the first 28 minutes of the game. Battled back and leading by 10 with 1:40 remaining. They are still blitzing and playing press coverage. Not in prevent. Our staff should pay attention
I wonder what the thread would have looked like if UA had hit 2 deep ones over the top of an aggressive D and we had lost 38-34 or in OT? We won points. The only stat that really matters. And our staff use a prevent strategy to accomplish it as every championship team in the past generation has done regularly.

Maybe you should go watch the game again, we got lucky enough that they didn’t get the ball back when the score was 34-31. They did go right through us the possession before to make it a 3 point game.

My point is that we went into some version on a prevent when we were up by 17 with over 8 minutes left in the game. It should have never got that close.

Either keep your foot on the gas on offense, or be aggressive on Defense until the game is secured. Winning by 3 means the game was still in jeopardy. If we hadn’t moved the ball on our last drive to be able to run out the clock, we would have lost, or at least would have needed a defensive stand to win.

Everybody opened the season thinking 8-4, 9-3 were most likely.

Now those same people are throwing an absolute fit since we're sitting at 5-1 and "could" lose a couple more games.

What the **** is wrong with you all?
