This is what the 2017 depth chart *could* potentially look like minus all 2017 recruits except Tee Higgins, who is the only current commit for his class. Along with all seniors graduating after the 2016 season, I put Hurd, Kamara, and Barnett out as all could likely go pro early. It's definitely not guaranteed to play out like this, but based on this quick draft, what position(s) do you think will be most important to recruit for 2017? I'm going with linemen, DB, and RB most of all.

QB: Dormady/Guarantano/Jones

RB: Kelly/Young/Fils-aime

WR1: Williams/Jennings/Johnson
WR2: Malone/George/Henderson
WR3: Smith/Callaway/Higgins* (current 2017 commit)

TE: Wolf/Brooks/Pope/Creamer/Johnson

LT: Richmond/Johnson
LG: Robertson/Sanders/
C: Thomas/Raulerson
RG: Jones/Mosley/Boulware
RT: Hall/Kendrick/Tatum

DT: McKenzie/Johnson
DT: Tuttle/Picou

DE: Phillips/Mixon
DE: Butcher/Taylor

WLB: McDowell/Bates/Ell. Berry/Sapp
MLB: Kirkland/Bryant
SLB: Smith/Bituli/Blakely

CB: Moseley/Osborne
CB: Martin/Henderson
N: Gaulden/Abernathy

S: Kelly/Warrior
S: Berry/Griffin

K: Medley
P: Daniel/Townsend

2017 will be a good team. But we'll need a QB to pan out and a dynamic freshmen RB to emerge if we're gonna be great.

Dobbs, Hurd, Kamara, Barnett, Sutton, and JRM are our 6 best players. They'll be tough to replace.

Water is wet.

And hell is hot.

I think 2017 will be a better team than the 2016 team.

Dormady or Jones will provide better passing from the Pocket. People don't realize how much work Jarret Gurantano has. He's not a project, but his passing skill has a ways to go. But luckily Dormady and Jones are there.

RB. Kelly and Young will be outstanding. Joe Young is the most underrated talent on the team. Watch how much noise he makes in summer camp after a full off-season in College S&C program.

Defensivly

Our secondary will be GREAT.
Linebakers Very Good
D-Line also Very Good.

Hurd, Dobbs and Kamara will be tough to replace in running game. My biggest concern is that in 2017. Defensively should be great. OL will finally be very good, WR's have talent, I think for QB we will be good in passing game, just not sure of production in RB.

Bright side though, I think the days of worrying about SC, Mizzou, Vandy, Kentucky are over and UF, UGA, Bama are actually games we can win or at least have equal talent. First time since early 2000's we can say that.

We don't even know what next years depth chart will look like... They'll figure it out during spring/fall camps.

Let's just ejoy the 2016 Championship season. It's been a tough journey back to the top.

Go Vols!!!

Well done, a few thoughts:

- I suspect Mosley will be in the two deep on the OL
- Vickers will be a factor at DT
- Isn't Bituli expected to move to DE?
- The Warrior call is extremely pre-mature
- WE WILL NEED A BIG TIME RB RECRUIT NEXT YEAR

Gurantano starts, He is way more advanced than the other qbs were coming in. With a redshirt year he will be ready. We need a big time rb to emerge. We are good everywhere else as long as the oline develops.

The only place where I am truly concerned in RB. I like what I've seen from John Kelly. But I'm not buying Young just yet. He's had even less playing time than Kelly has. Not saying he won't be good. I'm just reserving judgment until I see more of him.

Agreed. It also wouldn't hurt to pull in another five star next year to take the worry off a bit.
