All of you who are quick to get rid of Coach Pruitt, are up to date with your smart phones. You must get the newest, because.it has 5g or whatever.instant gratification is a must.I want to win every day game, hasn't worked.out.You Mega's talk about improvement,it's never as fast as we wish. The phone analogy is about a nega being a sucker. The new phone.they sell you for 700-1100 dollars actually costs 35-50 dollars.to.make.Show some.degree of patience,we'll get there.

I think I said this in a post before the season that this may be a throwaway season for most everybody. It has been really strange season with lots of upsets other than Bama, Clemson, and Ohio State. Even those teams have not always looked great, and Clemson has little competition except possibly ND coming up, and Ohio State not much after Penn St. flopped. I think the Ga game with poor O-line protection really shook JGs confidence and caused his play in the Ky game, but he was better and wasn't the main reason for the Bama loss. The way this season is going, we could beat A&M and Fla., then lose to Vandy. Just can't put too much value in this season's results with all the disruptions for almost everyone.

Along the lines of where we are and where we want to be.
There were teams we want to overtake that for one reason or the other were playing linemen and LBs yesterday that were buried at level 3-4 on their squads that were as good as we have on our front line. Herein lies our biggest problem. Set aside our QB situation. Give us a top flight first team group (yes at QB too), we still won't have the 2 even 3 deep skill and size/speed to play with the teams we want to play with week in week out. With the restrictions on numbers you can recruit any given year and the other things that effect team depth (transfer, injury, busts) it will, as has been shouted on this site for all of Coach P's tenure, - - - IT TAKES TIME!!!
How much time we talking here? For simply progress to be evident? Or is this some kind of thing where we continue to get worse and worse and then one day we wake up and we are great?

To compete with the best takes time.

To beat those with less or equal talent than you takes some.coaching skills.

I know that if I had to hire a new coach and had only the choice of Dooley, Jones, or Pruitt, there is no question of the one I would pick. It would NOT be Dooley or Jones. He inhiereted a team with the worst talent at almost every position and had little input in changing the recruiting class Buthch had put together. Hi first task was trying to keeps many of the recruits as he could and did a good job of doing that. He nor almost chance to increase the talent of that class because 99% of the best high school player had already committed to other schools. His first real recruiting class was much better and last years class was the very good. He has an even better class lined up for this recruiting year. There are holes which need to be filled and he seems to have those holes well covered in this new class. It is a shame that the most prolific posters on this board are trolls who spew decent aimed at our football program. They have done this for at least the last 10 years and we see that they have adversely affected the attitude of of the coaching community. Why do you think that we have been rejected by so many of the better coaches we have attempted to hire over the last 10-12 years? It is the culture of our most vocal fan base. t will not change as long as they call for the removal of coaches before they have ben give an adequate time at rebuild a program. One can not build a complete new organization when you start construction and then tear it down when the construction is only half way completed. We finally have a coach who knows football and is willing to stay the course until the job s completed. Let's not destroy the progress that has been made and start the some old cycle over again. I wonder if any decent coach would now consider coming here based on what has happed in the last dozen of years.
I know the same old haters will be the first to reply so have at it. I, for one, am getting old and want to see my University do something wise for a change.

Coach Pruitt can get the job done. Most
of the fans are just disgusted with his
handling the quarterback situation. That
to me is his biggest detraction and until
that changes it's not going to get any
better. Granted there are other problems but I don't see them changing until the quarterback situation is changed. A lot of other problems will work themselves out I think with a new quarterback.JMO.

I got our 2 Samsung Note 9s @ 2 for 1 price based on the recommendation of a friend from Winchester. Bigger problem is it's been 2 1/2 years and I'm getting the feeling I overpaid vs performance expected. But, I'm willing to use it another year, maybe two as new ones will cost me a lot and I'm still paying monthly for these.

To prerend this fambase somehow impact a coach's decision to come here while other fanbase dont is to not be aware of anything outside of UT sports.

The Tider Insider made VN look positively sheppish during their run of bargain basement coaches.

If the right money is offered most coaches would come here. Thise that wont...do they ha e the cajones to be successful anyway? Probably not..

Without my weekly visit to the “House of Pain” I thought I would report on a recent court case where a case was brought against Jeremy Pruitt, Head Coach of the Tennessee Volunteers, that he should be sacked. Here are my notes:

All rise, the court is now in session with Judge London Vol residing.

Judge Could the member of the Prosecution Botch Jones please stand to make the case why Mr Pruitt should be removed from Head Coach of the Tennessee Volunteers. But before you start, Mr Jones put out that cigar!!

Prosecution Thank you Judge. I believe the accused should be removed from his current position for the following reasons.

He been in the position for 2 ½ seasons and the roster is made up of mainly his players and yet in that time the Vols have lost to Georgia State (a team they paid $950K to play). Kentucky by the biggest margin since 1936 and the overall total of wins are no larger than of the first 3 years of his predecessor whom I might add built the program “brick by brick”

Defense Judge I must object, the previous head coach left the program in its worse state for 103 years.

Judge Sustained, now Prosecution please stick to the facts and not go to fantasy land

Prosecution Sorry Judge. However, it is a matter of fact that in his time The Vols have lost every time to Georgia, Florida and Alabama and at no time even made these matches close.

My next point is that Mr Pruitt has received absolutely full support from the AD and the school with record salaries to recruit the best coaching staff and one of these, a Mr Brumbaugh was even sacked after only 4 games, this shows without doubt his failure in recruiting and in which to many on this side believe was, just a ruse to deflect blame for the bad results.

Lastly, I believe that the accused is playing a style of football (a running game with a stifling defense) that is outdated, in fact its like getting a new vehicle for the family and passing the new Chevrolet Garage to go to the Horse and Buggy building. Also, on this point we believed when hiring this coach, we were getting one of the best Defensive Back coaches in the country yet I cannot see the NFL salivating as they wait for this crop of backs to enter the draft.

The Prosecution rests

Judge Thank you Prosecution, now would the member of the Defense Phillip Fulmer please state the case for the Defense.

Defense Thank you Judge. Well members of the jury you have just heard a long list of mistruths which was exactly why the job, my client holds, became vacant.
My client, I mentioned inherited a complete meltdown of the program and this was always going to be a multiyear rebuild. Mr Pruitt has recruited extremely well as illustrated by the Offensive Line, whilst not yet fully delivering on its potential, it is without doubt far better than for many years. And there are many other areas of the team that have players waiting to blossom, especially a crop of Wide Receivers that are the envy of the college football world (Hyatt and Wideman have already given you a glimpse).

My next point is that my clients loyally to the most important part of team has been not rewarded. There seems to be have been no progression and if fact if improvement of the quarterback position had been achieved, this would have resulted in maybe 1 or 2 extra wins this season alone (including one against Georgia) and therefore this case would never had come to court. I understand it must be frustrating to see Freshmen Mertz at Wisconsin, Rattler at Oklahoma and Mr unpronounceable at Clemson proving that giving Freshmen like Bailey the keys to the offense may actually be a better option. But loyalty, even misguided, can be an asset and there is no evidence yet of either the team giving up on the coach or even anyone entering the transfer portal. This I conclude supports the argument that the team is still “on board” with coach.

Lastly, you must not forget 2020 is a unique year. There was no spring training and a very much interrupted fall practice and also no cupcake games to iron out difficulties all this directly due to COVID 19. In short this is not a season to make long term judgements on.

To sum up, whilst mistakes have been made, overall, with a positive solution at quarterback, this program is healthier than before my client arrived and the fan base need to be patient a little bit longer. Thankyou my lord.

Judge Thank you. On hearing all the evidence put before me to today I rule as follows:

I agree with a number of points the prosecution made and I recognize that things are not as advanced as I had hoped, however I rule ON BEHALF OF THE DEFENSE

I do believe that the performance of the quarterback has held back the teams results and has even restricted the Offensive game planning and in short, it has masqueraded other improvements that have been made within the program from the shambles before. But my final word to Mr Pruitt is, sort this out asap and continue with your work and deliver on the hopes and aspirations of the best fan base in college football. Do not be in my court again this time next year or my judgement may be very different then. This court is now adjourned.

GO VOLS
.
Cute. Pruitt did not inherit anything near as bad of a situation as Butch did. The 103 year thing is a figment of your imagination. And that was pretty much the anchor of the defense attorney in the above. So, I would never hire you as my attorney.
