Thanks LV! As usual, your recaps are better than anything our local media (outside of Marvin) ever produces !
Just excellent - fair and excellent !!!

Our D is going to be better next week - Hobbs will be in better shape and able to go a few more snaps and that means the others will get a little more rest and be able to give a few more top speed reps as well.
Dude your reports are one of the highlights as I appreciate your perspective.

Thank you very much Hulavol and perico

One of your best recaps. Hit the nail squarely on the head on every team issue. Agree with you, the bad things are not going to improve, just have to hope the good can continue to overcome it.
I think the DL can improve as they continue getting healthier. The in-game adjustments showed they’re better than their 1st quarter performance. I chalk up the poor start to not knowing how Petrino would attack us going into this game.

The DBs are another story. Safety play isn’t what it was last season. As much blame as we’re giving Banks for being overly conservative for long stretches, he’s likely trying to compensate for our weaknesses in the back end.

It’s possible that calling games like he did last season would make our coverage problems MUCH worse. Just a thought.

I believe this is exactly what they are doing- trying to mitigate the back end weakness as much as possible. They know they can’t really stop anyone with the talent deficiencies caused by their two best corners being out for the year and some slower than needed LBs.

With Bama’s issues at Oline, I actually think they will do a little better this week - and probably bring the house on third down a few times risking the easy huge play if they can’t get to the qb fast. I think they can get to him.
