The Mexicans taunted the Texan Independence Army. They played Deguello each night during the seige of the Alamo before their bombardment. Santa Anna asked for Col. Fannin's surrender at Goliad with false promises of honoring those terms, just prior to the brutal slaughter just hours after the white flag was raised.


The Mexican army burned everything and everyone as a show of ferocity to the Texan Army. They used these tactics to intimidate them.

Then, the self proclaimed Napolian of the West was met in a swamp just south of the piney woods region of southeast Texas.

Mods, remember this lesson in History.
