As I am stuck here in quarantine looking for every single bit of Tennessee football information, I thought about a couple things that made me smile in regards to the future of our program. Since the quarantine depression is very real for some folks, I thought I would post some of those thoughts in hopes that some of ya'll would chime in as well.
#1 Our O line is fuggin huge. Like 6'6 320lbs 5 star dudes. It feels like yesterday that we had Jacob Gilliam and Kyler Kerbyson out there (super nice kids, don't mean to be rude). But these guys are B*ma, UGA, and Auburn level talents. In a LOS league, this makes me super happy.
#2 Jay Graham is back! I feel like this has been glossed over a little bit with NSD and all that's going on, but this is a HUGE addition to our program. He's a great recruiter and loves the hell out of this university. ( not to mention Tee, who had all but severed relations with the program while Bu*ch was here).
#3 We're recruiting jumbo athletes with speed. I cannot remember the last time we had multiple athletic mismatches on both sides of the ball. If I had a dollar for every time I've said "man, you just can't do anything against that level of athlete" while watching the Bama game I wouldn't be waiting on a damn stimulus check that's for sure.
#4 The freakin Battle Captain is in charge. He's helping guide the ship back to where it needs to be. And all decisions about our staff are being ultimately approved by a guy who won a national championship for us. Such a cool thing that few schools can claim.
#5 The University as a whole is supporting the program again. They aren't just propping up the program for financial gain -- they are investing is quality people who will help make us great again.
#6 We got a 5 star QB. I'm not a huge star gazer, but it's worth noting because we really haven't signed a super high-profile QB since Casey Clausen. And nowadays, there does seem to be a pretty high correlation between high ranked QB's and their success at the college level.
Look, Pruitt might not be the next Saban, but he's done a damn good job of raising the standards around this team, and making fans like myself believe that the future is bright.
Ignore this thread if you want! I'm just searching for some positivity.
