A Thread For The Coaching Search Family!

In his PC yesterday, he said he was gonna put together the best staff in the country..Well it's hard for me to believe that him bringing most of the staff from Cincy fits that description..Hope he knows what he's doing.

There will b many who will praise whatever he does, and some will poo poo what ever he does. I hope I can find the balance....

But I am with you... if he had the best staff in the country at Cinn .... a Dooley coached team would not have scorced him ....400yrds by Bray??????

When I first heard that his name was on our list, I told my hubby I said,"Hell, even Dooley beat him." Had no clue that we would actually hire him.

Yeah, that would be a major kick in the ... well, you know.

He will recruit lights out for a Saban coached Bama team and burn us every chance he gets.... just like Trooper Taylor has done.

Speaking of TT...wonder how the recruitment of the Berry twins is going?

"I think he is a very good coach, but his assistant hires will be crucial." Direct quote from Skeeter.

Jones had two ex Georgia and one ex Alabama coach/player on his staff at Cinci. If you add in Graham, and possibly Tee and I'm also hearing rumblings that Henshaw might be kept on. This could be a very good recruiting staff that is very familiar with the south.

I'd like to see Graham and Hinshaw retained and Tee brought it. Should be a great recruiting staff.

Folks, I think I'm done for the night. Still under the weather. I'll be back on tomorrow. Everyone have a good evening.

I knew his DC had connections to a Georgia, but who else...also does anyone have Florida connection or perhaps Texas? These are the three states outside of Tennessee that are most needed imo.

I truly hope we get Tee back here and the rumor of him to Bama staff is not true.

Also, Jones has already sought Green ... that all sounds good...hope they CAN recruit like you say? I just not familure enough to know for sure or to be confident

Tight Ends coach at Cinci was also a tight ends coach at Georgia for six years and their wr coach/recruiting coordinator was an ex coach and player at Alabama + the DC was at Georgia as LB coach for 6 seasons

As far as his overall record as a coach, he would be considered a very good coach but other than that, i'll have to see it to believe.

50-27 overall record which is a lot better than Dooley's when he was hired here 3 years ago...It is refreshing to hire a coac with a winning record but we shall see about his coaching abilities..Can he win against the big boys?

Those GA and AL ties will work in our favor hopefully plus Graham and Hinshaw will be awesome..Both of those are excellent recruiters.

A coach's first job is to win games. As you can tell, I'm a Raider fan. Whatever touch Al Davis had, he lost it in his old age. But he did say something that made sense. When a reporter asked him what the new coach had to do to keep his job, he said "He's got to win".

That's how it is. Jones has to win. I don't think he can. Not necessarily a knock against him, but the deck is stacked against him. And if he doesn't win, chances are he'll be gone. And we'll get to do this all again in a few years.

The Vols went with Dollar Store Dooley, considered K-mart Smart, and hired Jones. Hopefully he won't become known as "No Show" Jones. :)

Watching the Heisman...hoping the dude form Notre Dame doesn't win. I still get pi$$ed every time I watch this. The last guy to win the Heisman as a defensive player was Woodson that beat Peyton and another Notre Dame player that beat Johnny Majors was Horning.....pulling for Johnny Manziel. Wouldn't be too upset if the kid from K State won it.

i'd be surprised if manziel didn't win it. what he's accomplished this season is nothing short of amazing

Well we know what happens when ESPN wants you to win as well. Im betting he wins it too......that media loves Notre Dame.....My least favorite 3 teams in the world Bama, USC, and Notre Dame....I still can't decide who I will be rooting for in the NC game. I just wish they both could lose. I'm an SEC guy to the core but I can't take much more of Bammers

My husband said the same thing bout both of them losing. This championship game is just gross IMO

Wow Manziel won it. First Freshman ever. Pretty impressive. Does anyone know when we have to play Texas A&M for the first time?
