I am SURE that all of the coaching staff are nice people who love their children and treat their dogs well. but they get payed HUGE MONEY, by my humble standards to win football games . And they DON'T. All of this talk about young men getting an education and building character is great, but let's get serious, they would like to play pro football. And they ain't gonna get there THIS WAY.

....But especially those who have been bashing Dooley,Bray,Sal,Chaney or any other Vol Player or coach.

That's just a nice way of me saying Z. Rogers sucks because he does.

He makes two bad plays for every positive one.

Zach is killing us. Not even the ref saw him as a threat to catch a deep ball.

Zach Rodgers = Deer in the headlights

I can do better. ZR sucks.

Looking forward to the day when slow white kids named Austin or Zach are no longer dropping passes in orange.

Because he plays like he looks, soft. He drops most passes.

Expecting anything different than dropped passes from Zach Rogers is a coaching error. That is all.

As good as Z Rogers is at knocking balls down wonder if he could play CB?

Sorry, Z. Rogers is too busy dropping his next pass to care what you all think.

dooley PLEASE put arnett in!!!! at least he doesnt drop everything thrown his way.

This!! ZRogers is terrible!!

Why is Zach Rogers even playing ?

Why do we keep throwing to him? He's sucks!!!!!!!!!

Has Zach Rogers held on to a ball all season?

He is one of the worst receivers I've ever seen Tennessee put on the field.

NO ONE Knows the future! And sometimes it's amazing what a difference a year can make! For most its SO to JR for others it JR to SR. While not trying to make excuse's for any coaches or players as there's clearly some issues all around. These post came from 2 threads last Oct. There where many more threads bashing ZR all yr. If alot of these VOLnation posters had there way ZR would have never seen the field again. And look what he's done. Last weeks toe tapping TD was unbelievable!

The Point.... We as Vols fans lots of times overreact to things we don't really know about. I was one in the camp last year that wished anyone besides ZR would play Wr. This year he's proved us all wrong. Any of our players or coaches could make that step next season. Imagine if Bray improves his ability to read defenses and lead a team as much as Rogers has improved his ability to catch the ball. The sky would be the limit

Could Dooley and Chaney make that step. Some have said there's no progress , But I don't recall any 4th quarters the first two seasons where we were driving to win or tie against the best. This year we've had a chance to win every game except buck fama. Since the UGA game we've rushed better than we have in a long while, and each week the offense. looks more and more like our good old days. With rushing and passing. then the short passing last week. More short passes and TE and we're there. Again not making excuses here( Cause I say if we can get Gruden DO IT) But it's possible this is chaney's first season using the whole play book or doing whatever he thinks is best. Not being limited by a FR or SO O line,Wr,Rb,and QB, And still learning what's best to do in SEC.

And it's possible for a new head coach to make some questionable (dumba$$ed) calls. Or his players to make some bad mistakes for a few years and then succeed. says............ Les miles and LSU

I'm not saying I think all this will happen. But I'm saying any of it could.AS ZACH ROGERS PROVED THIS YR And we as fans don't really know!

So be carefull who your bashing today. Cause tomorrow they may make you look like a fool.

Hell... Maybe next year Palardy can pull a Zach Rogers:):loco:....GBO,VFL
Well all I got outta that hot air was you can do better. So lets see ya next eeek against missouri! And remember don't cry on national tv when your azz gets run over!

Actually, that's part of CDD's qualities as a coach that he doesn't get a lot of credit for he has dismissed a lot of good players because they acted in a manner that was a poor reflection on the university.

I would say that the "thug" reputation UT football had under CPF last few years is pretty well gone.

The man makes 2 mill plus per year, is married to a doctor, has a law degree... I assure you that he is not a loser as a man.

But right now as a HFC he does have a losing record.

You reference his qualities as a coach and a man. You naturally assume positive effects of these qualities.

What if I told you a good friend of mine whose son was recruited by Dooley last year described him as a malignant narcissist. Her and her husband, who is a former Vol (played for Majors), could not stand the man and absolutely did not want their son playing for him. They met with many coaches during this process including Saban who, by the way, they liked very much.

Would you believe it?

I didn't at first. I supported Dooley until recently and remember at the time I didn't want to believe her depiction of Dooley. Unfortunately as time goes on you hear things and I now do believe there is something, no a lot to what she had to say.

You talk a lot about how there is more to college athletics than wins and losses. I would say to you that on the most basic level, athletic contests are predominately about winning OR losing. If not, why do we play the games? To quote Herm Edwards, "You play to win the game........ HELLO, you play to win the game!!"

I think you are a bit naive in your view of what big time college athletics are about and you MAY also be in ere on your opinion of Dooley as a coach and a man. Also, you seem to think that you can't get an education and win games at the same time. I believe simply that if a player does not get his education while on scholarship (regardless of wins and losses) he has no one but HIMSELF to blame. Players, especially at big time programs, have so many resources at their disposal there is no reason they should not get an education.

As someone said earlier, gone are the 'good ole days' of being able to hang around for several years until a coach 'figures it out'.

Losing your team is bad.

Losing the fan base is worse..

Money brought in by the football program helps the university in SO MANY ways. Losing the fan base means losing that money on a large scale and it simply can't be tolerated.

Time for a change....
