I don't have a problem with wanting wins. I do have an issue with the constant bashing and crying.

Glad I'm not one of them and I will teach my kids how to respect others or to step into their shoes before they speak.

There's too many immature posters who think they've got it all figured out on here. You can't win with them.

Atleast some aren't harsh but moreso joke about it.

It's about the degree.

Yes wins are important but ultimately for a College Student it's about the degree and developing the young men.

Sadly for most VOL fans W's and L's are all that matters.

Never-mind these are 18-23 year old young men.

Never-Mind that the development of these young men is truly what matters most.

Never-mind that these young men are future leaders.

To a lot of VN trolls ... None of this Matters... ONLY W's matter.

Anything less and the kid or the coach is subject to massive amounts of TRASHING... Just like ZR last year...

If the ONLY reason you are a VOL fan is for W's then you are in the wrong sports arena..

The coaches make a life long impression on these kids.

So we should hold on to a loser coach because he's a good role model. You know, with all of the arrests, dismissals and the stellar graduation rate.

Actually, that's part of CDD's qualities as a coach that he doesn't get a lot of credit for he has dismissed a lot of good players because they acted in a manner that was a poor reflection on the university.

I would say that the "thug" reputation UT football had under CPF last few years is pretty well gone.

The man makes 2 mill plus per year, is married to a doctor, has a law degree... I assure you that he is not a loser as a man.

But right now as a HFC he does have a losing record.

Between the renovations of Neyland, TBA and new facilities in the past 5 years, they've spent what... 80 million dollars? That's on top of lowering academic standards to get athletes admitted(all schools do).

You're right... college athletics are about more than just wins and losses. They're about money.

There are 18-23 year olds overseas and you're up on a pedestal lecturing people about how football players are future leaders? If it was truly about education, they wouldn't bend the rules and lower standards to get them admitted. They'd be held to the same standards as everyone else, but they're not. Know why? Sports, winning and money are more important than education. It's a billion dollar industry.

Check out UNC with their free grades and tutors doing the players papers. And Auburn who dished out 180,000 to a single player that won them a championship.

There is a reason every school spends six-seven figures just to try and get these kids on campus. There's a reason coaches make millions at the college level.

Your view of college sports are so distorted. It's almost as if you think everything is rainbows and butterflies.

Well your entitled to your opinion. You point out some black hat things that have happened and universally apply them. Not a sop for most schools.

Yes, college ball is a big money machine. Anybody can see that.

But it's still about the Players. last I checked Universities are in existence to educate people.

Thug reputation? Idiocy. We just lose now and get out-recruited by our rivals. It is easy to say you are going for character and not "stars" when the you aren't getting stars.

Look folks we`ve sucked so long we`re going to have to wear black so we can get black recruits excited about us...And dadgum dont be kicking our good blacks off 4 smoking their weed(DaRik). We could also do camo&Earnhardt commemorative jerseys to appeal to the white kids. And hire a black coach. We`d recruit good 4 a few years&could not POSSIBLY do worse. I believe we`d win it all in 14 if my ideas are implemented. sooner if we did this TODAY. whattyallthinkathaten?

He makes two bad plays for every positive one.

Zach is killing us. Not even the ref saw him as a threat to catch a deep ball.

He is one of the worst receivers I've ever seen Tennessee put on the field.

NO ONE Knows the future! And sometimes it's amazing what a difference a year can make! For most its SO to JR for others it JR to SR. While not trying to make excuse's for any coaches or players as there's clearly some issues all around. These post came from 2 threads last Oct. There where many more threads bashing ZR all yr. If alot of these VOLnation posters had there way ZR would have never seen the field again. And look what he's done. Last weeks toe tapping TD was unbelievable!

The Point.... We as Vols fans lots of times overreact to things we don't really know about. I was one in the camp last year that wished anyone besides ZR would play Wr. This year he's proved us all wrong. Any of our players or coaches could make that step next season. Imagine if Bray improves his ability to read defenses and lead a team as much as Rogers has improved his ability to catch the ball. The sky would be the limit

Could Dooley and Chaney make that step. Some have said there's no progress , But I don't recall any 4th quarters the first two seasons where we were driving to win or tie against the best. This year we've had a chance to win every game except buck fama. Since the UGA game we've rushed better than we have in a long while, and each week the offense. looks more and more like our good old days. With rushing and passing. then the short passing last week. More short passes and TE and we're there. Again not making excuses here( Cause I say if we can get Gruden DO IT) But it's possible this is chaney's first season using the whole play book or doing whatever he thinks is best. Not being limited by a FR or SO O line,Wr,Rb,and QB, And still learning what's best to do in SEC.

And it's possible for a new head coach to make some questionable (dumba$$ed) calls. Or his players to make some bad mistakes for a few years and then succeed. says............ Les miles and LSU

I'm not saying I think all this will happen. But I'm saying any of it could.AS ZACH ROGERS PROVED THIS YR And we as fans don't really know!

There's way too much intelligence, logic and facts in this for it to get good reviews here on VN where most are young and clueless about what it takes and how long it takes to totally rebuild a college football program.

The same "experts" that bashed Z RO are the same experts doing all the bashing today and have been WRONG more times than they've been right.

There are the same experts that said last year that all our O linemen sucked...WRONG!

They said all our RB's sucked...WRONG!

They said we would never have a good running game until we got good SEC type O linemen and RB's to come to UT...WRONG!

They said CDD would never get our running game going...WRONG!

They said CJC sucks and will never get our O any better...WRONG!

Our starting RB has been hurt and hasn't even played the last 2 games but all the experts said we'll never run the ball well now since our backup RB's all suck...WRONG!

WRONG is what IS posted here on VN most of the time but never try to get someone that's WRONG most of the time to ever admit they were WRONG because it won't happen.

What would be the most WRONG thing to do is for AD Hart or our big $$$ boosters to listen to all these WRONG experts here on VN because the WRONG experts on here are WRONG over 90% of the time and their record is MUCH WORSE that the Win/Loss record of CDD, LOL!

People here need to grow up, shut up, support our team and let things happen as they will because NOBODY here on VN has anything to say about who will coach or play at Tennessee.

If CDD and this staff needs to go then the big boosters and AD Hart will make that happen and all the crybaby garbage spewed on here will change nothing.

Most people that are WRONG most of the time are miserable people most of their lives anyway and their favorite thing to do it to make other people miserable too but that's just a proven fact from many Psychiatric research studies over the last 50 years, LOL!

I support my Tennessee Vols and that includes every coach and player that wears Tennessee Orange and if we get new coaches then I'll support them too because that's what real fans do and I've been doing it for 50 years and I'll die supporting my Vols no matter what!

Good years or bad years I'll still sing Rocky Top and cheer on my Vols!

If it wasn't about wins/loses then why is Dooley on the hot seat? I guess the fans put him on the hot seat ? Dooley is here to win football games, Saban is at Bama to win football games. Dooley might be a man and a good man at that but as a football coach he sucks. He sucked before he got here and while he has been here. If you think UT is just spending millions for Dooley to lead these kids in life then your really pathetic. How long did it take for Dooley to kick Jackson and Darick off ? How many chances did those 2 get? Don't act like Dooley is something he is not. At the end of the day wins/loses will decide his fate.

I also remember that Peerless Price did very little as a junior, and then the next year he's unstoppable.

Here's to next year's RB's & DB's doing the same.

for gods sake you bunch of ^#^@@##@! , The o-line is a year older,stronger. We now have a RB coach that Dufus Over looked previously. When your on the bottom only way you can go is up. You guys find the stupidest reasons to support the freaking comedian coach!
