He hasn't had many opportunities for KO returns this year, but the guy looks electric with the ball in his hands. Unless there are plans for him to play a significant role at DB this year or next, I would like to see him play flanker as Josh Smith is playing now. Thoughts?

A comment on the Florida game. Though the pregame and halftime interviews with the coaches are probably excessive and useless, I enjoy seeing Allie Laforce do our games. She had a cute, encouraging smile for Butch on his plans for the 2nd half. It might have put an extra kick in his step just when he needed it.

I really wish that he could have been used on offense. That is one of the things I don't understand. I cannot imagine that he would not have been a good wr or even RB.

They are just slow to replace some guys that should be replaced - hopefully Evan gets in at DB or WR soon

I think it's kinda disrespectful the way he has been used to this point. The guy is electric with the ball and obviously a great player. Hes also a Berry, one of the most respected names in the Vol family. It's a complete mistery to me that the staff has not found a way to use him more.

Put him in as a WR and he is an automatic decoy. Set up a screen pass later, a reverse, or just a go route. Either way it would be something that other teams gameplan for. I can see him lining up at WR a few times early in the game as a decoy and late in the 4qtr against bama he takes a reverse to the house.

Point that OP makes is valid. Nobody in their mind is going to kick to him.

I think he might be ready for Punt Returns soon.....although Kamara was very consistent except for that errant fair catch wave.

The end zone to end zone pick against Northwestern last year (yeah, yeah, garbage time etc.) was a thing of beauty. If they can get him in on the defense he could become something special with the right coaching. He is just so damn fast.

His skill set is sooo rare. Once the ball is in his hands he's the best player on the field.

We are leaving talent on the bench.

It makes me wonder if he has problems with learning the playbook or something. He is just too good with the ball in his hands to be stuck solely on kick returns. Maybe the coaches are seeing problems at practice that we, as fans, are not privy to.

At what point do you let him play because of who he is and what he's done? Let him play and make him show you he isn't ready to be there, Justin Martin has played very poorly and made awful decisions yet he is still given opportunity, different position but regardless Evan needs game day opportunities other than teams "accidentally" kicking to him once a game and him destroying them for it.

Does any of the volnation "in the know" residents know why he isn't in the secondary more? Could he not do what Martin does?
