Kind of amazing when you look at the direction that we are headed and the direction that Florida is headed. On one hand you have a program that just got a signature win after stating the year pretty rough. On the other you have a team of 4-5* recruits with a mediocre coach on the backslide. Enter the new Zook era. I admit I was pushing hard for Muschamp when Kiffin left, now I thank God we didn't get him.

Yes, have to be careful what you wish for, cause you just might get something you don't want. Ask gator99 or lawgator if they are happy.

I can confidently say that as early as next year it could be us and Missouri deciding who takes the east. It's exciting, it's like the 90s and early 2000s with Missouri playing the role of Florida.

if they had a decent qb...they would have been fine. but that's his fault for not recruiting one

For sure. And on all counts. They would still be in the same shoes with Driskell. They really haven't recovered from the Tebow fallout.

Florida isn't going downhill. They will probably never go truly downhill unless they fire Muschamp, hire their own version of Dooley to replace him, and then Miami, FSU, and other schools lock UF out of their own instate recruiting.

I could see them losing 6 games this year though, but I suspect they'll bounce back pretty well in 2014 with a new OC. I mean, they still have near Bama level talent.

UF isn't going to settle for this no offense crap, look for them to fire Muschamp if there's another season of this.

UF isn't going downhill. Yeah they loss a game or two but that doesn't mean they are taking a nose dive. They still have been recruiting really well and there in the Sugar Bowl last year. If that's the definition of going downhill sign me up. Yeah their Offense isn't good but it will get better

Muschamp is just a mediocre HC. I've been saying that since he got there. His team underperforms and now that it's just his boys there, he's being shown for what he is.

So with that philosophy what has been Miami's problem with irrelevance with all that instate talent for the last 6 years or so?

Muschamp will be looking for another job soon. I hope They beat Georgia but South Carolina and FSU will beat Them brutally

What makes you think Muschamp isn't that guy or worse? The biggest difference between him and Dooley is that he inherited a lot more talent.

You do understand that they hired Boise State's OC (Brent Pease) away from them, right?

I hope like crazy that they DO fire Pease and keep Muschamp... but I suspect they know where the real problem lies.

The Saban tree of assistants has failed to produce any top HC's.

EVERY team takes their walk through the valley at some point or another. UF has had a long string of good fortune. However if they dip right now, there are numerous teams in place to help keep them down including the Vols.

FSU is attractive to recruits as is Miami. UT is doing well in FL. Clemson and Auburn both have long histories of pulling players out of FL. What they do with Muschamp after this season will be critical. I hope they keep him but my suspicion is that unless he pulls out a better season than it looks like he will... he's going to be unemployed come January.

The Ron Zook days have returned at Florida. Muschamp is a bigger arsehole version of Ron Zook.

I'd rather have Muschamp there for the next couple of years than say someone like NIU head coach. If I am not mistaken they're undefeated. Comparing anyone to Ron Zook is silly and who was after Zook: Urban Meyer. The last thing UT needs is some up and coming coach to get that level of talent considering that they are beatable right now.

I'm not sold on the NIU Head Coach. The Guy who built the program is at NCSU right now. Give Him 2-3 more seasons.
