A Tale of Two Basketball programs

Ok. Read the article... And what Bruce 'did' was have kids at his house. It didn't even involve an arrest, and he had absolutely 0 to do with the accident or the alcohol. How is that similar at all to Billy G actually being arrested (more than once) on DUI charges?

He will come up with some pitiful excuse for Billy G. Billy is his idol. You know you can't win this one.

Basketball is still, to a great extent, an urban game. New York, Chicago, et al still produce more players than Florida. The FLL/MIA area is getting there, but it can't cover for the rest of the state.

A friend of mine coaches for one of the 1-A schools in the Boca/Lauderdake area. Made it to Lakeland the last two years. A couple of the teams they play every year have a Division I -major conference recruit in them. But not the intensity they have up north, it would appear.

He pleaded guilty to reckless driving in exchange for the DUI charge to be dropped.
Thats because his b/a reading was within a range(low enough) to do so. He still wasn't treated any differently than John Doe would have been. DUI and Reckless driving don't compare as far doing jail time or losing license, insurance rates going up Reckless driving is a fine, probationary period, done.

Don't waste your time arguing with this old dinosaur. He wouldn't admit he's wrong if everyone on this site disagreed with him. Don't you know someone in your life that can never be wrong. Well, on here, that person is hat. Also, if you disagree with him, you will be labeled an idiot because he is an attorney and he is always right.
Look, Mr. AFLAC is here.

I don't want to call you dip-wad, but the I was baiting comment was just pathetic.
....are you sooo freakin' stupid that you think that I thought I could throw a few names out there and have Hat NOT jump on some. You guys sit around here and keep acting like a$$holes to the best thing that has EVER happened to our mens BBALL program, or me defending it against the lawyer....cool with me.

Billy Clyde has never thrown a party at his house where a drunk, underaged kid attended, then died in a fatal wreck. Which is worse?
LAWYER ALERT: I don't think it was Bruce throwing that party...and are you willing to take responsibility for EVERY "by proxy" event that has occured in your life....Billy was doing it.....CBP had it happen....HUGE FREAKIN' DIFFERENCE......God, the constant lawyer $h!t kills me.

I think you were ignorant enough to say there are 15 more talented teams than this Vol group. You tried to back it up and looked silly doing so, then threw this silly red herring comment into the fray. It was pathetic.

Then you shifted gears and said that we have talent due to Bruce. I do think he plays an exciting brand of ball to recruits and should have some success there, but hasn't yet been the success you state. Tyler transferring home was more fortune than anything else and Tyler was the difference maker on this squad.

do you actually know what "by proxy" means?

You should give Ryan Childress more credit. EDIT: For those without a sense of humor, that was sacrasm before I get blasted.

I'm smart enough to never place myself in situations where I have to answer for the actions of others. It's the reason I didn't buy Preservtion Pub in Knoxville.

god forbid we get to enjoy the accomplishments of our team/coach without comparing them to the high school further down I40

As if I needed another reason to dislike U.M., I was listening to the Tiger network today, sometime in the last 5-6 minutes I think, and Dave Waloshin was bragging about their one-loss season. I figured it would pain him too much to recount who handed them that one loss, but I was pleasantly surprised when he said "and that came against Tennessee of course." "Wow," I thought, "giving us some props."

But then . . . wait for it . . . wait for it . . . . . . . . . he says . . . . . . . "who, need I remind you, are watching from home today."

I'd like to be excited for the Tigers, I do live in west Tennessee, but I swear their fans make it difficult. I wore my orange today in honor of the Lady Vols game tonight. I wish I had a dollar for every "you're wearing the wrong color shirt" comment I got.

Yeah, like they would be wearing Orange if U.M. were out of the tourney and we were still there. I admit I hate them, but take some solace from the fact they hate us more.

Thanks for letting me vent.
