Serious question.

If the depth chart is wide open, can we really claim Wide Receiver U still?

Well, here is a complete list of just the All-American wide receivers who have played at Tennessee:

Robert Meachem (2006)
Carl Pickens (1991)
Tim McGee (1985)
Willie Gault (1982)
Larry Sievers (1975, 1976)
Richmond Flowers (1967) See UTSPORTS.COM - University of Tennessee Athletics - Football

That doesn't even take into consideration such luminaries as Joey Kent, Marcus Nash, Alvin Harper, Donte Stallworth, Kelly Washington, and Peerless Price. So, yes, I believe that we can still make a pretty good case for being Wide Receiver U.

Ummmm yea, because we there is the strong possibility that we have two juniors taken in the first round of the NFL draft (at least one). I would say that still puts us in the realm of WRU, not many schools can say they may have two WR taken in the first round.

Larry Seivers was the other great wr in the 70s. I thought Stanley Morgan was a tailback at UT, not a wr until he got to the NFL.

Stanley Morgan has the record of all purpose yardage in U.T. history. So, he played tailback, wide receiver, returned punts, and returned kick offs.

This season, C.P. surpassed Stanley Morgan's single season all purpose yardage, but of course, C.P. played more games in a season than Stanley Morgan did.

Morgan still holds the career all purpose yardage record for U.T. though.

So, Morgan did play wide receiver...
