Its not knee jerk look at other coaches in yesr two three and four around country they are winning big. His recruiting is mediocre this year and last because he cant win enough games. So yes. 5 mil a year the expense of going yo games.....im not gett I ng the return on my investment desired. Seckndly people are fired everyday for 30k a year for not living up to expectations at work this guy gets 5mil...its really a no brainer

Dumb question.. isn't the Chancellor like the CEO in a business. If so, why can't the new Chancellor force Hart into early retirement??

The the AD could take over.. fire butch.. new coach..

Keep in mind, I am running completely on ignorance here as I do not know a thing on collegiate policy or politics.

Hart could allow the new AD to shadow him until his retirement. Let him Make the decisions.

Our University has never shown the will to run with the big boys in the SEC. I doubt they are even concerned with Butch's success so far. Winning season, bowl game, asses in seats = happy UT admin.

I do think he should be let go, ideally he would make the arrangements to leave of his own accord and save us some money. I doubt it happens, but I wholeheartedly doubt that Butch has what it takes to create a credible threat to win the SEC.

The AD is nothing but a pawn and does what the major boosters tell him to do. No reason a committee of former players and boosters can't make a hire and have it validated by the athletics board.

Who are "they"? The lame duck athletic director or the lame duck president who hired him? Why should either of them bother with this since headache they are both on the way out?

Butch should be given a raise and an extension this year and fire him next year

4 years ago we would have killed for an 8-4 record. Now that we've had 2 8-4 seasons in a row everyone is ready to go looking for the next nick saban. LSU just kept Ogre if that gives you any idea what's available. If next season we aren't 9-3 or better, then I will consider changing my vote.

I have never been happy with or wished for 8-4. And comparing anything to the Dooley years is foolish. This coach had the golden ticket to the championship MULTIPLE times aND blew it. No Tennessee coach has ever had an easier opportunity to win in a horrible SEC like this joker.

Lessee... Need a new chancellor. Need a new AD. Butch Jones is under contract through 2020 with a $4mil buyout. Somehow, the VNsters calling for his head just don't get it. It's not going to happen anytime soon.
