A Simple Request

Love the post KD.

I wish there were two football boards. People judge you by the company you keep.

As a long time fan, graduate of UT, and moderator of the board, I have a very concise suggestion:

We are returning an experienced team that is coming off a rough season, a team of young men that is hungry. They, undoubtedly, have seen the passion that has surrounded this coaching search. They have seen and heard the negative comments after the Kentucky loss and during the staff changes of the past week or so.

What's done is done. We underachieved last year, and we were hit by a few devastating injuries and personnel losses.

However, we have a very solid staff in place that will be completed in the next short while. We return what should be a very competent offense and a group of athletes that is ready to "make the turn."

Can we, as fans, realize that our support feeds the fire of these players, the staff, and other fans, and look toward 2012 as an opportunity to begin the return to greatness?

There is simply no good that will come from repetitive negativity. If we do not find success, then the time for change will take care of itself. But, as fans of this great program and university, can we all set our hearts that it will not come to that?

Remember our tradition and pride. Remember our history. And, finally, remember that it is GREAT to be a TENNESSEE VOL.

I love you man. (NO HOMO). :hi:

If you could hear me right now, I would be slow clapping you to a standing ovation. I can't wait to buy my first pair of season tickets and stand on my feet yelling till im hoarse this season. GO BIG DAMN ORANGE!

The thought behind the post is honourable and encouraging. The negativity has gone too far, but, it is not wrong to send a message that Vol fans were not happy with the effort they gave at Kentucky. To say to the players and coaches that it is acceptable and we support you regardless is probably not a good idea. Give your best effort and we will be behind you.

With our roster, current commits, AND our schedule, things are setting up nicely for us next year. If the team pulls it together and puts forth the effort, the haters will have no other option but to eat crow. V,B

Could not agree more. It's amazing what positive thinking can do. I will support the Vols day in and day out for the rest of my life. I'm sure there will be times like now when I get a little frustrated from time-to-time, but I will never be a NEGAVOL!

Hear, hear! Or is it here, here! The groundwork has been laid, solid improvement to follow this fall, major "we're back" kind of improvement in 2013.

:good!: We expect our student athletes, coaches and school to "Give their ALL for Tennessee", why should we allow ourselves (as the 12th man) to give any less? Suit up and get your arse to Neyland. We are Tennessee!!
