I have a personal tradition, I bet at least a few of you share it with me: drink a shot (or two) of Jack just before kickoff of every Vols game.

Then, if the game goes badly, I tend to drink several more shots during and after the game, heh. We can call that a tradition too, I guess. :)


Anyway, I know we're not playing today, but we might have. And so I'm sitting here before a dark-screen TV, sipping some Jack neat, in honor of the lads who are headed out to practice, something they believe in, Tennessee football, after an afternoon marching for something else they believe in. Proud of those young men, and our coaches.

If you're drinking tonight as well, salut. Slanche. Prost. Cheers. Go Vols.

I like to sip Whiskey or Scotch or Rum and smoke cigars throughout. And if the Rum and cigars are from Cuba, even better (and I have a stash of both...you are allowed to bring them back from abroad now).

The only problem with you tradition is the last 10 years or so. I expect by now your are a first rate alcoholic!!!

Jack Burton, I think I'd have been drinking Jack Daniels regardless.

I mean, don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure it's true. :)

In that case, I will have to end my VolNation membership. I don't drink, a personal decision, arrived at after living with a couple of alcoholics. Some people just can't handle the stuff.
