A scenario that could play out...

We somehow win 3 of 4 with all of us hoping and believing that we can run the table. We dominate the bowl finish 7-6, all with JG at the Qb position and Chryst contributing a bit down the stretch. Recruiting we finish with a top 10 fill our needs class. Offseason we get bigger and stronger, return all 11 off an improving offense, including a now 230+ lbs JG and prayfully a healthy Trey Smith at GUARD. Banks gains 25 lbs and plays a key role in improving our defense in 2019 (Pruitt will improve the defense and playing against 4-6 new QBs will help).
Next season starts with a veteran team and our weakest schedule in 2 decades, the Vols go 11-2 or 10-3 with Pruitt's 2nd big bowl win. All of a sudden Pruitt's record is 17-9, 2 top 10 classes and Alabama at home in 2020! Odds, I don't know, maybe as low as 10%, high as 80% should we get on a roll. We've all heard why this can't happen, it's time we all start believing in these kids and this staff, our head coach, starting qb and even old Bob on the radio because the facts are simple, this very well could be our only path to get back to where we all want to be. Obviously all of this goes south at 4-8 or 5-7 so no need in any NegaVol comments as this is just my view as I see it. Goodnight!

I could absolutely see all of this happening. Except for Trey, I believe he is done. Blood clots in the lungs are way too serious to risk. I know you will get blasted for this but I like it. I believe the future is bright for the Vols. Depending on which TN shows up on any given week, we could win out. Winning the bowl game, if we make one, will be a little more difficult imo. Simply because you will likely be facing a better team than you have played in awhile.

We were never on a magical path with Jones as he was a garbage hire from day 1. Only time I ever saw a gym teacher make millions!

You're joking right? Practically almost all of these jokers in the coaching ranks are glorified gym teachers. Very few go against that norm. In fact, Pruitt sounds like he came straight out of a middle school faculty meeting. His grammar for a college graduate, that also happens to be representing a major university, is embarrassing.

There are plenty of college programs that win without an elite QB. Danny Weurfel.

Danny weurful......

I am assuming that guy you responded to was referring to his NFL career. Which is pointless when talking about college. In college, Wuerffle was definitely elite.

I about lost it with the over "230 + lbs" Guarantano. He would practically be obese at that weight and only being about 6'3. (Don't believe the listed 6'4.) What makes you think his frame, that has ALWAYS been thin, has the capability of putting on MUSCLE like that? He has narrow shoulders and hips, among other traits, that say this is a big stretch. Tyler Bray is a legit 6'5-6'6, has a frame and length that makes Guarantano seem small, and getting him to over 230 for the NFL was PUSHING it...

Some of these Guarantano fans are a piece of work...

Pretty sure Trey will make that decision when the time comes, I doubt he gets your or my opinions on the matter.
I doubt that Trey will get to make that decision this time. I believe that the coaching staff and the university will weigh in when the time comes, if it does.

Nope, never met him, but I do evaluate talent for our service as I see it. JG checks all the marks with coaches. Big arm, good size, elite toughness, great competitor, class act (see his Auburn interview not his 1st game on the bench last year) and athletic with good grades. He's also one of our highest graded players on the season by PFF, a group who does crazy good NFL draft grades and players potential to play at the next level.
million dollar arm, 5 cent head. If he doesn't learn how to get rid of the ball he won't be around for the NFL.

I always get a chuckle out of reading someone making the comment in any given thread, “WTF did I just read?”, finally can say for myself, WTF did I just read?
