Hello fellow alums.

No. I'm not a mega-bucks contributor to our fine alma mater...but I do pay my dues each year. Nonetheless, I and my "tribe" of Big Orange fans, even though we don't pour the dollars into UT as do you and your constituents, are (and you'd better believe this) the literal heart and soul of Tennessee sports.

As an active participant in the internet conversations with my fellow Vol fans via Volnation, I couldn't help but notice the intensity and passion that's been alliterated by the vastest majority of my fellow Volnationals regarding the hiring of our football program's offensive coordinator. Additionally, it's just as clearly obvious how much of a bad taste almost all of us still have in our mouths; that which pertains to the unwanted interference (past and present) by some of your particularly high profile members. All of you are patently aware of this, so please don't remain mute to our opinions.

Here's a simple request: On UTAD's efforts to fill the vacant offensive coordinator position for our football team...butt out...please. Most of us prefer to solve our problems peacefully, and not being disruptive to the overall tranquility to our institution and to our fan base. However, don't forget the horrid train wreck from last years bungled coaching search; one which resulted in crowd of angry fans demonstrating on campus over the outrageous handling and bungling of a similar situation...this one which ended with the dismissal of the sitting AD. A good portion of this was mitigated via your constituency (Are you reading this Mr. Haslam?), who appeared to have pre-chosen his/their own pet choices.

All of Volnation is both pleased and optimistic with AD Phillip Fulmer and with HC Jeremy Pruitt. It's their designation to decide upon who's to fill that vacant spot, and it's not at all any of your's.

Once again, neighbors. Please just sit back and let the leaders lead.

A Volnational.

I'm a BOT member.

Not only do I read VN, but your anonymous online plea changed my mind.

That's OK fellow alum. I wasn't addressing you personally...just those who we recognize as the troublemakers. BTW: Since you are a UT alum, how's about you proofread your response. 'Hard time with English 101?

Neither pro or con on your post, but what evidence do you have that the BOT or Haslam’s are involved in the determination of this hire?

Have we seen anything that shows they are involved with the OC search? Either in a positive or negative way?

Someone posted an open letter.[/QUOTE]
Slow news day... I'm sure Pruitt and Fulmer are sitting in their meeting room going: "I really think X is the guy, but how do we think Volnation will like him?"

There’s a search going on?

I consider it a good thing that we aren't aware of everything going on with the search. Considering how the HC search went last year. I prefer the non dumpster fire version.

The BOT thing was the it fell apart at the 11th hour story for all the people slinging this ****, Dan Harralson mostly. The BOT doesn't care who CJP hires as an assistant, just like they didn't care that Currie was going to hire Schiano. You know what the hold up is? Either Pruitt doesn't want to hire him or Freeze doesn't want the job.

Freeze is waiting to see how things are going to shake out with Bama.

I mean..seriously...which QB does everyone think Freeze would rather coach to rehab his reputation?

As long as it's not a Scianoesque hire that shouldn't be a problem.

I lost IQ points reading that. There are so many misused words and awkward phrases I thought it was satire.
