First, they worked on kickoffs. Did about 6 practice kickoffs (#96 looked the best kicking off), then went right into the offense, starting at the 25. In the first series, Crompton got confused not having Kiffin in the huddle and they called timeout, but that was the only time the whole game. That's encouraging. There were a few false starts and illegal procedures, but you're going to get those in every game.

He didn't play much, but when he got the ball, Bryce Brown looked excellent. He would break 3-4 tackles every time he touched the ball. He is a beast. Hardesty looked great, but had a fumble (as did Oku). Poole didn't do much until the 2nd half, then had a couple long gains.

Crompton looked very good in the first half, but below average in the 2nd half. He is not good at throwing the fade, always overthrows. He's good at throwing on the run. He still stares down the receivers.

Stephens was the exact opposite from Crompton. Looked bad in the first have, then decent in the 2nd. He still holds onto the ball too long, not quick enough with his decision makng.

Kiffin went back into the huddle when the 3rd team offense played just before the end of the 1st half. At the end of the first half, they practiced punts. One punt was blocked and returned for a TD. #22 was the punter, and I believe #10 on the defense is the one that blocked it and returned it for a TD.

The 2nd half started the same as the first. Started with kickoffs and ended with punts, with offense vs. defense in between.

At one point, Nukeese threw a pass ala Lucas Taylor against UF in '06. The defender did a GREAT job of breaking up the play though. The receiver was WIDE OPEN, but the defender caught up to him and deflected the pass. Great play by him, but I think if Nuke threw it just a half second sooner, it would've been a TD. Nuke also ran one play in the Nuke-gun, he gained 9 yards after a fake hand-off. That drive ended on a Bryce Brown 5 yard run for the TD. That was a great run by Bryce. He got stuffed up the middle, but broke it to the outside, broke another tackle at the 3 and dove into the corner of the end zone.

Gerald Jones got hurt at one point. He limped off the field holding his ankle. I think he's okay though, as he was walking later (still with a slight limp), but his ankle wasn't taped up...hopefully just twisted it a bit.

Brandon Warren looked solid. I'm excited about him this year. Hancock also made a great TD catch where he did a hitch route, then broke a tackle and ran in for about a 20 yard TD run...similar to Meachem against Cal in '06.

If there's any player you want to know about, just ask and hopefully I can tell ya!

Did we have some consistency at LB? I am hoping the starters are starting to standout above the rest at that position.

Who was the receiver here?

Lets cut to the chase. Crompton, is he still staring down receivers to the degree "others" still imply he is.

I thought at the Orange and White Game he had improved but others say no. I would be most interested in your observations, to this point.

Can someone please explain to me how Crompton goes 17/31 265 yards, 2 TDs today and you are still complaining???

I was @ the scrimmage today & that was a very good recap. IF Brown can stay healthy he will be a BEAST for us while he is here.

There were times when he would stare at them too long, and other times when he would check his 2nd and 3rd receivers. It seemed like if Crompton made a bad pass, he'd then make 2 or 3 more bad passes in a row...like he'd be thinking about it too much...still a headcase, I'm afraid...

He did make some good plays, but still inconsistent. Here's some good news, though...NO FUMBLED SNAPS, NO FUMBLED HANDOFFS!
