A question for out of state fans?

Pawleys Island, SC -- just south of Myrtle Beach. I see the Power T all the time -- several times a week. Especially during the summer when a few million of our closest friends come to town for a beach vacation!

To all of the out of state fans like me, how often do you see people wearing Vols gear?

- I saw someone wearing a UT shirt at the mall up here in Lexington yesterday. I run into people quite frequently wearing orange.

How far do you travel to Neyland to watch the games and about how many games each year?

-3 1/2 hours for me. I'm hoping to come down for at least two games this year. UGA and LSU.

Living here in South Florida I still see quite a bit of Orange. Haven't been to a game in over 10 years but it takes me 11-12 hours to get to Neyland from here.

I no longer live in LA, moved out of Vegas after 8 years. On cruise in ATL until spouse retires in a few years then to a place we own in Clearwater, FLA. Georgia is full of UT fans all acknowledging each other. Vegas was kind of rare except on those rare moments as a local when I was on the strip. Surprisingly in LA I ran into Vol fans probably 5 to 1 as compared to Vegas.

Here on Saint Simons island GA i see power Ts on cars every day. The past 2 years I've seen more and more. If i see a tourist from any county in TN I'd say there's around a 50% chance they have some kind of Vols decal or plate. Which is great to see. I'm in college down here but drive up around 500 miles for 2 big games a year. Finally transferring to UT hopefully next year so will be at every game!

I live just outside San Antonio TX and I see quite a bit of TN orange particularly during football season. I keep my TN gear on my white pickup all during football season but usually take it off after the bowls; don't want to wear it out. However, I wear my TN orange gear all year round & see quite a few Vol fans around here. I remind my TX wife that the REAL UT is in Knoxville. I do like Texas (UT) but not the same as the VOLS.

I'm in the Charlotte area of NC....you see a few fans here and there. However I went on a cruise that ported in Charleston SC last month and it might as well been called the Vols cruise line. I struck up so many conversations with peoplenty wearing Vols gear...we definitely dominated the fandom on the ship.

It's a 3 hour drive for me to campus and we catch 2 or 3 games a season....sometimes traveling to away games like in SC which is 2 1/2 hr drive for me.

Used to see fellow Vols fans all the time wherever I was stationed: Germany, Fort Bragg, combat zones, other deployments, didn't matter, there were sure to be fellow Vols around. Didn't always have the colors showing (hard to work orange into you ACU uniform without getting stopped by the first sergeant!), but they were there. Flags on the side of the GP Medium, or on the inside of the HMMWV.

We remain the Volunteer state, as far as military service goes. We're all over the world, serving proudly.

Thank you, Bigslk, it was truly my pleasure. There are several soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, coastguardsmen here, and some of them are still on active duty, serving today. I'm just one of the old farts now, haha. :good!:

Joplin, Missouri here. I drive around with a giant Power T in the back window of my truck. My favorite waitress at the local Sonic is a Vols fan, and there's a dude in a red Dodge I've seen a couple times with a Power T. Other than that, you get a lot of the expected Mizzou stuff. Went to Columbia two years ago (3.5 hours away) and watched the Vols win, and was at Neyland last year for the Tennessee Tech game. Hoping to make it to at least one game this year.

Military, I didn't actually meet many fellow Vol fans (except Yankee_Vol who is legitimately a good dude). The one that I did though, is a 4'11" fireball from Murrvull by way of Vonore (and the undisputed master of "bless your heart"), we met in the PX in Schweinfurt, Germany. She's now my wife's BFF and the mother to my "niece". All because she had on a Tennessee shirt, lol.

Where do you live? Huntland, Elora or Vann Town?

My Brothers live on Limestone Road in Elora, Sister, out towards Lexie Crossroads.

I live about 2 miles from Lexie Crossroads on the Lynchburg side. My girlfriend lives in Vann Town though, so I have to travel through Huntland and Elora either on 64 or John Hunter Hwy.

Live in NJ, and have recently noticed upswing in rare UT hat sightings, which is big pro country...giants, eagles, jets. Just this past Sunday at Sam Hunt concert @ PNC Arts Theater, saw 3 UT hats, 2 Bama and one Ole Miss hat (though he had a Nashville T-shirt on). BTW, Sam Hunt puts on a great show.

Usually catch one game per year. Last year, unfortunately, I chose game at SC. This year, LSU. Have a feeling there's going to be alot riding on that game, where we so very rarely play in an important late season big game. I like putting a big game towards the end of the year.

My Dad and I travel from the Spotsylvania, VA area which is roughly 7 hours to Knoxville. We usually go to one game each year but started going to two as of last year(VT & Florida). We're hoping to go to both the UGA & LSU games this year.

Hey Man! I'm in Fred'brg! We try and make a game or two a year also.
Do ya'll get a hotel room or take a camper? We usually take the motorhome and stay down by the Marriott.
There's not a lot of places to park the bus! I wish UT would come up with a better solution for game weekends.

BTW... I see way more Bama **** here now than I used to. I think the larger enrollment at Bama has increased the local alumni population here. I used to see a bunch of UT stuff here. Not so much any longer.

So do I. I live in Charlotte/Concord area since 1980. Large alumni contingent in this area. In fact, couple kids from our church chose UT and had no family connection to UT. One playing/marching in band.

Season tickets for over 30 yrs. Make the 4-5 hour drive to all home games.
Started taking grandkids to one game each year, when they turn 5.

Last Thursday, in Ireland, I was having breakfast at a B&B and a couple walked into the breakfast area. He was wearing a Power T cap and an Atlanta Falcon T shirt. Later Thursday, I saw a lady wearing a Big Orange sweat shirt at the Ross Castle.

Here in Wisconsin it is pretty rare to see Vols, though I have a few in my 16 years here. I've been to two games since I moved: the UCLA game that marked the end of the Lane Train and last year's Florida game. I've seen several Badger games...they are a lot more fun that Vol games. People here are more easy going about football and they drink a LOT more.

Are you saying they don't give a sh-- about football. Sacrilege!!!

I see others in orange every week. UT alums find work in Georgia (I am one). Georgia HS footballers are recruited by Tennessee, including those in my county. There are Vol parents (they didn't attend, but their children are enrolled).

Its a 12 hour drive for me and the wife from south Florida. But totally worth the yearly trip, we usually make it a cabin in gatlinburg/pigeon forge area to make it a nice little vacay.

So its almost always 1 game a year in Neyland and every other year make the drive up to Gainesville for the game in the swamp. Although last season we went to college station too, got to see family in Texas.

According to UT Alumni there are thousands of alumni in eastern NC. Add to that Vol fans and we are many.

Here in Baton Rouge, its rare to see any Vols orange repped. But let us get a few more wins vs. Florida et al and it might start popping out here, maybe.

I rarely make one of our games any more, but will try to come up for UT LSU.
