Everyone has an opinion and they come here to share it because we all share the same favorite team. No poster on this board has the power to push an agenda, so it's a harmless opinion.

But it serves no purpose other than to feel as though you are actually important at the expense of posters who actually want to have intelligent conversations about a topic, not feel as though they are on a middle school playground having to ignore the bully that absolutely has to make sure their opinion is the loudest.

So you mean it’s a thread without KTK posting the same tired “positive” statistics about his Heisman candidate? I’m in!

Oh, I totally get what the OP is saying.

There is a huge difference between measured critique and thoughtless vitriol. Far too much of the latter in the world, and a fair share of it finds its way here.

Those who are twisting the OP into a cry for a safe space (it's not) or a plea for rainbows and unicorns (it's not) are (intentionally or not) letting the OP's point fly right over their heads.

He's simply asking for a place where fans can gather and discuss Tennessee football without insulting or unreasonable negativity (and a second spot where other fans can gather to revel in their NegaVolness). For the former, a spot where folks are mature enough not to let their emotions run away with them, even during and after a loss. Where folks share ideas like, you know, adults.

I get it, OP. And I agree with you.

It'll never happen.

Sounds to me like you are happy with the 14 to 3 win over Charolette and a likely 4 and 8 season so long as no one complains.

My response applies to both sides of the argument. Differing opinions are wonderful....childish, pointless agendas either way are not. We are neither unbelievably great, nor unbelievably bad. We are struggling, but I will still be a fan and have a desire to have an adult conversation about my alma mater any time. I would just like the adult part to be more emphasized, I am getting to old for silliness. ;)

It's been tried before only I think it was more for posters who just couldn't be civil moreso than posters who had a particular POV. If you dig far enough into the old threads of VN, you'll read that many people found there way to VN after being banned from another site. We used to have whole threads just to discuss what TennStud (now deceased) posted, because most of us weren't allowed to post on his site of choice. I like back and forth here. If we ever get really good again, there will be unparalleled unity. I will say that the OP has been consistent with the call for positivity for at least a decade now so he/she probably deserves enshrinement in the true fan HOF, if there is one

Good deal, we can call it the "old farts that need to take their geritol thread" Makes sense. And if you check, I have not once said anyone on our team sucked. I have agreed that our OL is bad and simply wanted to see KC get a shot. That brings on your entire army of sunshine pumping JG worshiping do gooders. Go on make your thread. I think there is a name for it: Circle...........
