Who would you like to see as head coach?

i like butch davis, but that looks to be fantasyland now. my 2nd choice would be kiffin and 3rd would be leach. need somebody to really bring some energy to the program and i think the same way about kelley, i just don't think they have what it takes.

Riley may be a great coach, but you have to believe that MH is looking to make a splash.

Doesn't seem like he wears the pants in his family. If he can't uproot his wife for one of the biggest jobs in College Football.

Might not be the job, it might be the location. Tuscaloosa isn't exactly a cultural mecca, and maybe Riley's wife knows that.

If I was AD, Mike Riley would have been my first offer, big time player developer. I also like Danny Langsdorf the OC/QB coach. Think they would be in heaven in knoxville. So just be glad im not the AD.

Riley is a very solid coach. However, you don't expend the amount of political capital that Hamilton did by firing Fulmer in order to hire Mike Riley.

Riley grew up in Corvallis while his dad was DC for Dee Andros. He's coaching in his hometown, and after his failed flirtation with the NFL, he's not going anywhere.

In light of that, did he do it to hire lane kiffin? Probably not. Sounds like it would have to a splash hire like Gruden.

The situation was obviously getting horrible. I'm not sure that we'll get a splash hire, although MH is going to reach out to some big names (Smith, Gruden, etc.)...but he won't limit it to that. It just really feels like this is leading to Kiffin...but we'll see. I'm honestly so confused at this point, I don't have a good feel for who I would even want.

I have thought Kiffin all along, but I am really thinking Brian Kelly has a shot. I hope they at least interview him. I believe he is a really good coach.

On Rome today, said "when you are happy stay happy", he said he went around the block and came right back home. He is happy and looking foward to growing OS for sometime and wants to get them to a high level and keep them there. I know it may be coach speak but you really get a sense that this guy is at home and not going anywhere.
