If beating a junior college level team by 4 points is a victory, then have a sip of Kool-Aid. Sure,it was a win,but really, who cares at this point? This just kept Fulmer's job safe a little longer. It's inevitabe. After this year Fulmer will be gone. I don't understand why Fulmer would get a raise and contract extension after winning just the SEC East divsion. It's not like this guy would ever leave. Nobody else wants him. I personally don't think Fulmer will ever coach in the SEC again.

He'll coach at UT next year. I honestly don't think he'll be removed. Hamilton has his back it appears.

Fulmer is gone after this year. No way he makes it through with this bunch. He had his day. It is time for something new.

I hope he bows out gracefully and it doesn't get ugly but either way it is going to happen. He's gone!!!

mmmm good, and yes it was a nice building game, it'll help the kids more than anything.

A.His buy out is to high price to pay, he'll remain.
B.Don't coaches usually get rewarded for championships of any type?

Your right he won't leave, he'll retire on his own terms and with the sophmore class we have now we'll compete and he'll remain no matter what is said on the boards.
I support cpf, the university and most of all the kids on the field !!

I disagree. I think UGA and Bama are losses, and at least one of those will be a blowout (30 points or more). Then, I think we lose to SC, and either Vandy or UK.

If the rumors of rumblings by the major boosters are to be believed, a 5-7, or even 6-6 season will give them the ammo they need to coax, or perhaps force Fulmer to retire. No doubt there will be a cushy desk waiting for him somewhere in the UTAD, unless he digs his heels in, and refuses to go quietly.

In any event, I think this is at least a six-loss season, and that will be enough to cost Fulmer his job.

Personally, I have nothing against Phil, but I firmly believe he has overstayed his ability to lead, and coach, this team.

Go Vols.

What championship? There are no rings or trophies awarded for winning the East. And I can assure you if we lose to Bama and Georgia, there will be other losses as well, unfortunately. If that happens, he's gone, regardless of your's or anyone else's unwavering support for him.

Meaningless..............are you serious dude?
We found our starting qb, got some scrambling qb experience, and got some work in for stephens, if that is meaningless then I guess GA will be meaningless too.

What makes you think he will do more with that sophomore class than what he's doing now? I'll hang up and listen.

Saying that we were/are the defending East Division champion and typically, not always, coaches are rewarded for things like that

That from what I saw last night, we're going in the right direction and positive things are around the bend with the kids we have now.And we're not losing much when the seniors leave this year a couple of key guys but easily filled imo.

We were the East Division representative in the SEC championship game because of the tie-breaker with Georgia. The winner of the SECCG is the league champion. The loser is.....well the loser.

My point exactly. It is a matter of semantics: SEC East title is the more appropriate designation.

QB!! With their first or second guys, they probably win the game! We are BAD on offense and special teams--real bad.

Fulmer couldn't even contend for the MAC title, much less the SEC.

No, only saw clips of it and listened to it on radio. And I do believe we're finally on the right track and if the o-line does what their able to do, we'll have good things happen for us down the road.
