This is such a joke statement. We may very well be a 3 loss team, BUT Tennessee just didn't GIVE us the game. Myles STRIPPED the ball from Dobbs. Watts STRIPPED the ball from your receiver. The 12th man NAILED your kick returner. Our D-Lineman STRIPPED the ball from your running back down near the goal. Johnson hit the ball out of Dobbs hands. Yes, I was disappointed in our defense the way they gave up too many yards. Garrett playing 15% of the game made a huge difference with not getting pressure on Dobbs. If you go back and look at the plays Garrett was in, Dobbs had to get rid of the ball quicker and didn't complete many 3rd downs. Did you notice your 3rd down percentage and who was actually in the game during that time frame? IF Williams doesn't fumble on the 2 this isn't a game in the end. IF you don't get the false start called on Tennessee when it was shot over Dobbs head you don't get a touchdown on that drive. IF we don't get a hold Reynolds caught a pass setting us up on your 30 later in the game. Every game has things that went wrong for your team, but don't take away from what A&M did. IF Appalachian doesn't miss an extra point, you are irrelevant as it is. IF Georgia dummy doesn't get a penalty after scoring on the touchdown with 19 seconds then Tennessee never has the ball at the 50 to try the hailmairy. Good football teams find a way to win. A&M did. They FORCED several turnovers. Only 1 was GIVEN to them.

I quit reading at the point you were proud of the dirty play by your #12.

Been reading this board for a while but never joined or posted till now. I had the opportunity to attend A&M and UT and spent much time at games at both. Was excited when A&M joined the SEC but dreaded the day the 2 schools would have to play.

Guess I'll use my first post here to ask Max what was dirty about #12 making the tackle and causing the fumble? I can't find video of it so can't go back and re-watch it. When I saw it during the game I thought it was a clean hit that resulted in a fumble.

He lead with the crown of his helmet and hit Berry in the crown of his helmet. You could see Berry go limp. Left a mark on his helmet.

3 loss team. They aren't as good as I thought they were. We win 8 out of 10 against them. Their kids played hard, but man our guys gave them the game in what should always be referred to as The Fumble Fest.

I think we are pretty good and we,in spite of our 7 fumbles, made them not look so good. They are a good team imo. But I agree with you that there are 3 teams on their schedule who can potentially beat them tho.

Welcome to the board.
Fair warning.....I can be a bit of an azz.....I usually don't mean anything by it but that's how it appears in writing.

He left his feet and lead with his forehead with an obvious attempt to deliver a head to head shot. Keep an eye on him in other games, it's his MO.

The irony of the night is warriors hit was not a clear helmet to helmet hit on #12 but was called.
The difference being one was a block and the other a tackle. Tackling should never require you aim for the head.

John Kelly's fumble wasn't caused by A&M. No matter how you slice it sister, we gave you 7 extra possessions with our turnovers and we tied the game. Btw your defence could not stop us most of the game. We got almost 700 yards of offence. Your defence isn't all that good like your insinuating. Neither was your offense. The *only* reason you won was because of our sloppy turnovers. Also our starting center got hurt, that caused some bad snaps. Sister, we beat ourselves, you did not. Btw I am enjoying all the attention from the A&M trolls. They act like they have never won a game lmao. To spend your time to make an account to troll us is pathetic lmao ;).

So.... in other words.... TAM can't be any good because they needed lots of turnovers to beat UT? Have you considered that UT may just be a pretty good team?

It doesn't have to be one or the other. UT exposed them and shot themselves in the foot in the process.

Without the turnovers.... UT is the better team and would have won by more than one TD. But TAM did force most of the turnovers.... and that is a significant part of the game.

The hit on Berry should have been targeting. #12 led with the crown of his helmet and targeted the runner above the shoulders. That was a MORE egregious example of targeting than the one thrown on Warrior.

And about that.... TAM received the favorable end of every call all day. They got away with obvious holds and several uncalled PI's.

Again missed calls are part of the game.... but don't pretend you posted a dominating win.

FTR, I think both teams are very good and make up the top 3 SEC teams along with Bama. Hope Bama is a two loss team after then next two weeks.... and you get to face a UT team that doesn't fumble the ball game away in ATL.

I think they are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated defensively (pregame banter about DBs all being All American caliber, DL best around, yada yada yada). They came into our game leading the league in offensive sats and give the devil their due, they are a very good offensive team. Have come close to stopping their one handed grabs down the sidelines yet? One mistake and their RBs were gone for 6, so to my head their O is for real., but even then, ours is better. If we see them again we blow them out with zero turnovers, Garrett is waaaaaaaaaay overrated IMO.

I dunno- probably if I have a question or feel the need to inject something. I read several forums but post very seldom. Been on some 4 or 5 years and have posted less than a couple of hundred times total. Don't expect this to be different.

Ok your turn- why is this a remarkable coincidence and what do Ole Miss, LSU, or Alabama have to do with me? I know you're making a point but I'm missing it.

Let me just say that I enjoyed by last week on your board talking football and a little smack with you guys. I felt your fans here were very knowledgeable and respectful for the most part. At the game I enjoyed visiting with several Tennessee fans who were good people. Wow! Lots of Tennessee fans at the game. That was one of the best fan bases I've seen for an away opponent. Here are my few take aways that you can agree or disagree.

1. That back up running back was a physical runner who looked like he had something to prove. He needs more reps for sure.

2. Tennessee is a resilient team, but we knew that coming in.

3. I wish Garrett could have played more. I know he made a difference when he was in on 3rd downs, but even then I could tell he didn't have his burst.

4. I don't agree that Tennessee GAVE the game to the Aggies. I get it when it's your team and you watch through your lenses and ball security was a huge issue and I'm sure will be a point of focus. I came home and watched the game again and there were great plays on the ball by our defense. You only from my eyes had 1 turnover where the defense didn't contribute to it. I will credit A&M for stripping the ball. They are one of the best in the country in doing that. A&M had several things that happened to them as well that if they didn't happen the game would have been over sooner. The bottom line is A&M did what they needed to do to win. Tennessee has had a lot of luck go their way. Appalachian missed an extra point. Without it, Tennessee isn't sitting where they are. Georgia had a stupid penalty when they score the apparent winning touchdown..without that penalty Tennessee is not at the 50 and has a shot at a hailmary. It takes breaks and you got plenty the past few weeks. You got several in the Aggie game as well.

I will be a Vols fan from here on out and anytime you guys aren't playing us. So far your fan base has been great and I won't judge you on your message board fans, but the fans I actually got to talk to in person. Good luck and beat the hell out of Alabama.

I was disappointed to read those comments too. I found that player to lack class completely but I sure didn't want him paralyzed. That's classless and ridiculous to put it lightly.

Anyway, when I think of A&M I can now only picture number 12 directing your fans in singing "nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey, goodbye" to Warrior.

Maybe being there in person would have endeared me to the classier elements of your fanbase, but from home all I could get was your players on the field and a little bit of lurking on your team message boards. I don't want you all to lose out anymore though since that would make a SECCG rematch impossible.

Anywho, belated welcome to the SEC family. We are disfunctional and pretty much all hate each other.

I just can't, not even Bama. (Having said that, beat the hell outta Bama next weekend!)

I'll bet the NFL doesn't think so, and I guess we'll find out soon. :)

Thanks Max I like you already.

Figured that's where he was headed. I was at A&M from 68-72 and UTK from 95-97 but lived in Knoxville till 99. Loved going to UT games but will always love the Aggies first since that's where it all started for me. Glad the Ags won but was a hard game for me to watch. Wish UT well and pulling for them the rest of the season.

Further thought- my son also is an Aggie who went to grad school at UTK and still lives in the area, works in Knoxville. He married a UT grad- house divided. Glad I didn't have to travel with them back to Tenn!

Sorry to hear that. I love the entire SEC and am thrilled that A&M is now a part of it. Last night I read up here and was just appalled by the few who wished that A&M player be paralyzed and etc.

This Aggie has been watching the Vols all season and rooting for you. Obviously, I wanted A&M to win last night and am grateful, despite a performance that was sometimes disappointing, that we did.

But it was in double overtime against a team with heart that just never quit, and you didn't lose--you were only outscored.
I've always kinda pulled for a&m and LSU, but after yesterday I don't know about that. Your players consistently lead with the crown of their helmets. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a Chavis defense would play dirty. It sucks because I've liked A&M all the way back to the old SWC days.

He led with his helmet right into the facemask of Berry. That kind of hit almost always draws a targeting call.

And there's the "They're overrated" post that I never understand. Maybe both teams are just good.

Agreed. I watched two immensely talented teams fight it out for 4+ hours. I think we should've won and 4 turnovers cost us 28 points for sure IMO. But at no point did it cross my mind that all of a sudden TAM isn't "that good".....they have a ton of talent/playmakers all over the place.
