a&m once?

Your memory is WAAYYY worse than you thought. Deuce McCalister graduated from OM in 2000. I think Dexter McCluster is the Ole Miss WR/RB that you are referring to that did well against us.

Thanks for the correction. D McC vs D McC, so you can see my confusion there. Either way, bro was moving too fast to see the name on his back.

We went to Miss St in 12
Hosted Auburn in 13
Went to Ole Miss in 14
Hosted Arkansas in 15
Went to aTm in 16
Will host LSU in 17

See the pattern?

All years in which those West teams were having a great year, another pattern the Vols seem to follow!! 😩😩

We played at LSU in '11 dude, as we played Ole Miss at home in '10 and then played at Ole Miss in '14. The next time we play State, A&M, Ole Miss, will be at home, conversely for the teams that we've recently played at home (Bama, Ark, Auburn).

It's not that difficult a concept.

In all fairness I'm sure a lot of fans have chosen to forget that game. That game does raise an interesting question. Which fraud coach got the most out of almost beating a good team? Weis at Notre Dame almost beating Southern Cal or Dooley almost beating LSU

The home-and-away series is something we do with ooc opponents.
aTm being in our conference, will roll back around on its own.

We play them (in Knoxville) in 5 years...College Station in 10.

I cannot effectively search this forum, sorry. I'm sure it has been discussed, but I can't find it.

Why did we only play a&m at their house rather than a home and away? What's the SEC doing sending LSU to us next year instead?

Thanks,
AV

2023 we host aTm.

12 Miss St R
13 Aub H
14 Ole Miss R
15 Ark H
16 aTm R
17 LSU H
18 Aub R
19 Miss St H
20 Ark R
21 Ole Miss H
22 LSU R
23 aTm H
24 Miss St R
25 Aub H
...

We rotate the Home and Away games and we switch position with the 3 SECwest pairs: Aub/MissSt, Ark/Ole Miss, LSU/aTm because of our H/A game with SECwest rival Alabama.

Ah, most of this is due to a really faulty memory I guess. I could have sworn we did a home/away with Ark and also thought that Deuce guy from Ole Miss ran rough shod through us in back to back seasons. Maybe the one time was just bad enough to count for two games. Thanks Dooley.

Anyway, I thought the pattern (home/away) had been deviated from. Guess that pattern has been gone for a while.

Thanks,
AV

Deuce McAllister? He was drafted into the NFL back in 2001.

Maybe you're thinking of Dexter McCluster? Whose last season at Ole Miss was in 2010?

We rotate non-Alabama teams each year. If we play the Gumps at home, the other game is away and vice-versa. It will be a long time before we go to A&M again, thus why I'm sad I didn't go.

It's ok. The schedule setup got weird for a bit while the conference tried to figure out how to properly implement an 8-game schedule rotation after Missouri and A&M increased the conference total to 14 teams.

I should correct that. I think the current rotation technically started in 2014 (it took two years for the SEC to sort it out).

Except we played Arkansas in 2011 and then 2015 again, $&?@ PATTERNS!!!!!

If memory serves me, that was due to USCe and Mizzou switching SECeast rivals: to aTm and Arkansas (formerly USCe) and due to SEC expansion, hastily adding in aTm and Mizzou to conference.
