I cannot effectively search this forum, sorry. I'm sure it has been discussed, but I can't find it.

Why did we only play a&m at their house rather than a home and away? What's the SEC doing sending LSU to us next year instead?

Thanks,
AV

In 7-8 years, however the math works out a and m will come to knoxville. Each east team has a annual west team that stays the same. The play another team each year and it rotates home / away each time.

The home-and-away series is something we do with ooc opponents.
aTm being in our conference, will roll back around on its own.

We went to Miss St in 12
Hosted Auburn in 13
Went to Ole Miss in 14
Hosted Arkansas in 15
Went to aTm in 16
Will host LSU in 17

See the pattern?

Yes and no. I understand we rotate home and away every other year with our non-Bama cross-divisional opponent, but with the addition of TA&M and Mizzou, this is going to throw off the rotation. Think about it.. we hosted LSU in 2011 and now we host them again in 2017? Do we go to Miss St again in 2018? Will we always play Miss St, OM, and A&M away now?

By then we will probably see a complete different landscape in college football. I think we will be in the mist of the Super Conferences by then.

Ah, most of this is due to a really faulty memory I guess. I could have sworn we did a home/away with Ark and also thought that Deuce guy from Ole Miss ran rough shod through us in back to back seasons. Maybe the one time was just bad enough to count for two games. Thanks Dooley.

Anyway, I thought the pattern (home/away) had been deviated from. Guess that pattern has been gone for a while.

Thanks,
AV

I'm really pulling for A&M to get the win. I would love to play them again in Atlanta with a few healthy players. Fingers crossed

We played at LSU in '11 dude, as we played Ole Miss at home in '10 and then played at Ole Miss in '14. The next time we play State, A&M, Ole Miss, will be at home, conversely for the teams that we've recently played at home (Bama, Ark, Auburn).

It's not that difficult a concept.

I understand the concept, dude. My question was how they expected to maintain the same round robin order while also maintaining the integrity of the rotational home and away after adding two teams to the SEC.

This: SEC releases future schedule rotations until 2025 - CBSSports.com

answers that, as the order will slightly adjust to meet those requirements. Instead of MS St, AU, OM, Arky, etc, the next cycle will be AU, MS St, Arky, OM. Historically, that adjustment was not required and did not occur.

We will host A&M in Knoxville around 2022ish. Then we will return to College Station in 2028 ballpark.

Painful that the OT interception is going to be with us for so long. But that's OK 'cause A&M will take it to Alabama tomorrow and we will see them again in Atlanta. See u in Tampa.

Sweet. We will get LSU with a first year head coach in the middle of the end-of-the-year tough stretch.

Lol. Battered-Vol Syndrome here. When I first read your post, I thought it was a (sarcastic, I hoped) cheap shot at Jones (needing to be fired).

I then came to reality and realized you were referring to LSU's coaching search. I guess I have too much faith in EdO leading them to a remarkable finish and being retained. Not so sure they'll have a "first year" coach.

AV
PS. Yeah, he'll bring you the death penalty eventually, but he is a heck of a motivator-coach.

I don't care if Coach O wins the rest of LSU's games this season (Which isn't going to happen). There is 0% chance that he is retained as the head coach. ZERO. And I was referencing LSU's new coach and LSU"s tough end of year stretch. I am very happy with our current head coach, unlike some "kneejerkers" as I like to call them.

Your memory is WAAYYY worse than you thought. Deuce McCalister graduated from OM in 2000. I think Dexter McCluster is the Ole Miss WR/RB that you are referring to that did well against us.

One thing LSU can look forward to is having 1 of the top-2 teams in the SEC next year. It always seems so, if a team is in the West and on our schedule.
