I'm in Corpus Christi and am completely outnumbered by Aggies, my next door neighbors included. They know I'm a huge Tennessee fan with a young daughter. They showed up at my door today with a present for her "for the game". I was expecting some maroon number, but I opened it and saw this. Then they wished us the best of luck, invited us over for the game and said Dobbs scares the heck out of em. Good people.

Good for your neighbor, awfully classy thing to do.

However, not all of them evidently share the same sentiment. See the thread with the video they made about Tennessee.....less than classy.

If you are referring to the video where they dropped a rock on the Tennessee helmet, this is not unique to Tennessee, its done for every opponent. Last week they deep fried a Gamecock helmet. I don't believe there is any malice intended, just old fashion gamesmanship from one fan base to another.

The nicest people I've met in all my travels to away games has to be Oregon with Notre Dame a close second. From what I hear, A&M should be up there with those guys. Looking forward to the trip.

I don't like it, hurt my feelings.

Nice story OP, but the majority are starting to think they're like the Longhorns of the Big 12. I don't like the Texas snobby attitude and that's why I avoid that state as much as possible.

Fair enough. Glad it's a weekly thing they do for all opponents I guess. Seemed a little bizarre on the face of it since we're not even rivals. Anywho, thanks for the clarification.

Similar to our "Rock"! Can't say we haven't seen some brutal burn stuff on that rock. It's the best thing about college football yall, the traditions and pageantry! GBO!

I agree with Oregon, great place to visit and watch a game. I believe aTm will be similar, maybe warmer.

A&M fans are classy fans. I lived in Dallas for 5 yrs. and knew several Aggies. You can actually go to see a game at their place and not feel your fearing for your life.

If you were offended by that video you may need to go find yourself a safe space.

I lived 4 yrs in SAN Antonio in the 80s. Aggies were much better to be around than tea sippers. Texas exs are unbearable.

From this Tennessee fan to all the Aggies out there. I'm looking forward to seeing us play in front of the 12th Man.I have always been an Aggie fan when they are not playing my Vols. Always loved the Thanksgiving day game with the Whores I mean Horns. Wished that match up would happen again. But back to our game. Good luck to both teams. And whomever wins. For God's sake don't let it be a blow out. Need both teams to come away from this game win or lose with a good reputation. Sick and tired of Bama being top dog. Go Vols.

I've lived in Dallas over 20 years. Since I'm an engineer I know LOTS of aggies and many are friends. My younger protege' here at work is an Aggie. My boss is an Aggie. Generally they are good peeps. We've had good discussions all week. Both fan bases are hopeful. Both know they can lose. Both beileve they haven't played their best football yet.

They have their homers just like we do. Just like all fan bases do. But in the aggregate they are a solid bunch and know a good deal about the game and their team.

Spent 6 months in the Corpus area last year for work. There's some good people down there.

Glad to hear that as an Aggie fan. For ANYONE who is going to the game, I invite you to pretty much anyone's tailgate there and you will be offered a beer or some food. I'm taking a friend and Tennessee alum and my friends down in Aggieland have already made sure I know to bring him by for some food. I hope you are treated well.
