Our WRs have been excellent this year… still a few too many drops but almost all have been on tough catches… they have ran excellent routes and made a ton of plays down field… he has by far the best recruiting position coming in this class and with these results it will only continue..

We have some dumb a$$ fans for sure. Our keyboard coaches want everyone fired after a loss. I hate to come in here and read some of their crap after a loss. I can only imagine what their life was prior to the internet. If they could write, some of them probably sent letters to our administration demanding some coaches be fired immediately

This thread can be rolled out more where Josh Heupel didn't listen to the 'noise' and been proven correct.

Include Coach Martinez who was scolded for years (including me I regret to say) and suddenly we have portal transfers McCoy, Hood and McMurray and recruited and developed Redmond and Poteat (who is meant to be a good un) making up the best CornerBacks department I have known at Tennessee.

Include Coach Elerbee, "none of his recruits have ever started" they shouted, well transfers Heard (who is playing at a 1st round draft pick level now he is fit), Moi & Pendleton, add recruits No 1 Sanders who is probably a cant miss recruit, but also how about No 767 Jesse Perry (not even playing in his best position) or No 303 Urmarov.

Suddenly I am reading some people are calling for Coach Banks to be replaced. He who had built a brilliant defense last year to the point he was nationally acknowledged. How people overlook that he was missing McCoy, Gibson, Moi and Hobbs on Saturday and Stockton had a career day, making throws he will probably never make again.

I've learnt to trust in Coach Heupel.

You are delusional! Yes, let's include Banks who can't perform well vs top tier Os. Yes, let's include Martinez who coaches the weakest link on the team every year when UT plays a top tier QB that can pass well! See below for proof of my comments!

Passing Yards Allowed, UT IS 107th with only one SEC game played! I am sure Mateer (OU), Green (Ark), and Simpson (Bama) are licking their chops to pass into UT's secondary that you think is so great! Also, don't be surprised when UAB's QB throws for about 250+, possibly 300+ this Saturday!

Yes, UT is down two CBs. But, as many secondary guys as UT has recruited the last 2-3 years. There should be some better than average guys as back ups. Ty Redmond isn't one of them. Yet, Banks / Martinez played him pretty much the entire game while he continued to look like a tiger chasing a cheetah! I am not saying he will not get better. But, why leave a freshman out there to continue to get beat like he stole something? Give someone else a chance! It isn't working! That tells me all I need to know about Banks / Martinez! They don't adapt and change! They stick with what ISN'T WORKING!

The part about Banks having a brilliant defense is wrong. Against really good teams, he is average. We are terrible on 3rd and 4th downs against quality opponents

Yes, a lot of people hear are seeing what they want to see through orange colored glasses. I like the team as a whole. I don't want another HC, OL, RB, WR, nor DL coach. But, the below is very telling! They don't want to accept that the D isn't top notch vs elite O's that have elite passing QBs !!!

They are blooming for sure. Not excellent. Lots of drips. It helps that we have a QB who can run the offense. It helps that Heupel is calling plays and made some adjustments to make his offense harder to scheme. But yes, I was pretty critical of Pope.

Yeah it turns out the real problem was having two straight years of QB play where they just rely on their arm strength and throw the ball as hard as they can with little to no touch.

Joey doesn’t have the cannon that Nico or Milton had, but his placement is so much better and he throws with touch that allows his WRs to actually make a play on the ball.

Yeah, he throws where they can actually catch it lol.. who cares how far you can throw if nobody can catch it when you chuck it up there?

Speaking of the WRs, I was expecting Matthews to step up into a much larger role. He has been solid, but not 5* solid.
