Saw a tweet saying this about Tennessee and thought it was the most accurate thing to say about them. What do you guys think?

Well after they reveal all they been hiding on Saturday we will know more....I don't buy into that but if they have been playing vanilla then we will know it come Sat, because they better dial up the goods if they have it.

Rick Neuheisel on Sirius radio picks Vols. With injuries and our home play this year I am at a loss as to his rationale. Hope he is right but sadly, I do't see it this year. His colleague said we were sold a bill of goods noting we had so many returners, Dobbs would be so much better, and UF & Bama would be down this year. So far none has come to fruition.

There's certainly no evidence to the contrary that we've seen on the field thus far this year. Saturday presents a great opportunity to squelch that.

We should beat all three of those teams we played easily regardless of playing vanilla. We straight got out played almost every quarter this year.

Debord is vanilla by default. Decent manager of the game but has limited creativity when it comes to play calling.

There is no leadership on this team, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Dobbs is not a leader and Hurd is not outspoken either. Sutton was a great leader and so is Maybin when he is in the game. You can tell when he is not in the game. If you don't have the drive inside you to be the best player you can be, then it doesn't matter how fiery the coach is players simply are not going to give their best effort on a regular basis. You can't coach heart. Unfortunately, we have a group of offensive lineman and a qb that simply do not have the drive to be elite players. I am not sure Dobbs has the talent to be one even if he wanted to.

There are only 4-5 good teams in CFB at this point. UT is not bad but they've not reached the next level yet. It's still early

Not trying to bait anyone man. Just wondering if anyone else feels this way

i think most,, even those being critical like me, are still waiting to see if team 120 can get it together.

tons of questions about this team. we can still get the right answers. if we don't, well......then you have the answer.

Well, we aren't exactly playing to justify our current ranking. However, if we beat the G_t_r_, all will be forgiven. I promise.:groupwave:

It's about as spot on as you can be. People call me a negavol for calling it like it is...and it is this. This team has been together for 2-3 yrs now and they still are not fluid at all. That is bad. They look challenged out on the field, especially the offense. The people that use that copout 'we're showing vanilla' b.s. are a joke. That just solidifies the fact of how bad these coaches are. They have been trying to implement this offense for over two years now and they come out and look like they did against App St, Va. Tech, and Ohio??? That is inexcusable. This roster is full of top tier talent and the coaches are doing nothing with them. This is not a fundamentally sound team. They look pathetic. Also, back to the 'vanilla' crap. You have spring practice, summer, and fall camp to get ready...that's what good coaches do anyway. If after those three separate segments of practice you have to show 'vanilla' so your rival doesn't see what you have, you are a very weak and scared coaching staff. You should be ready from day one to come out and play your game and EXECUTE. It's all about execution and this team doesn't execute at all, and that falls on the coaches. They are way in over their heads and it shows week in and week out. This staff does not belong. How many more excuses are the fans going to make for them? And why? Have you people not seen the product on the field? They trip over their own feet basically. Raise the standards back up for Vol football, and stop accepting this horrible display of mediocre football by this staff. #GOVOLS

vegas is still giving us the best odds in last 20 years. I'm baffled. I'll take a win no matter what

I think the worst part of the internet is that people no longer have to search for facts.

They just google and sift for people who think like they do. It reaffirms to them that their ideas are ideas that other people have too. Even if they have no foundation of truth and they are only opinions. It's like they think that if they all share the same opinions, it's the truth.

It reminds me of the Super Bowl line of -3 for Carolina. Everyone said "damn that's the easiest money I've ever seen" and Vegas won big.

Hopefully it's the same result, but I doubt it

I don't buy the bad team sentiment. This team has basically been together for two years now. The chemistry is there. But as mentioned earlier, can't really say that until after Saturday.
