A Little Past News On The Vandy Game Refs

The only blame we can put on the refs is that they called the game too tight. There was no home cooking, both teams got called. The only difference is that they made their shots and we didnt.

Yeah, the game was called equally bad for both teams, fouls were pretty evenly distributed between the teams. 53 fouls in all... 53 fouls in 40 minutes is a foul roughly every 45 seconds.

It prevented the game from ever really flowing, IMO.
I don't like complaining about the refs, but they really should have swallowed the whistle more often.

They impeded play and, ergo, became ( a factor in the outcome). Ergo, by spirit and letter of the obvious rules for governing "flow of play" ; those that impede and effect, outside of the two competing teams with their play, have a palpable and measured impact on the outcome IS ROTTENLY WRONG. The SEC officials are HORRIBLE. They become the focus of EVERY game played in the SEC. The whole last halves are usually headed towards a full-out Battle Royal due to horrid and inconsistance officiating. It's consistent.......consistantly horrid!!!!!

I didn't agree with some calls, but ill advised shots and Lofton not touching the ball the last 5 or 6 times down the floor wasn't smart either. One thing needs to happen before tourny time.....Practice your free throws!!!

Even if a game is called evenly, a closely called game hurts Tennessee because our style wears people out - but people don't get as tired when you are stopping every minute for fouls.
