A little info...

I read somewhere that Raines had just extraordinary speed... Beyond what you normally get with a 2* player. Is he that fast or is it just an internet myth?

Which guys really seem to stand out speed wise?

It's not a myth. Raines can fly

If anyone has the South Carolina game from last year, find the spot in the second half where Carolina gets a nice kick return. The Carolina return guy had it home free then all of a sudden a guy in orange flys in from behind him and runs him down. That guy was Stephan Raines and he was really bookin it. I looked up the SC guys speed and he is listed at a 4.3 in the 40, so that means that Raines is a legit burner indeed.

That's just a mean thing to do when we still have 40 days til the first game. :cray:

actually the game was replayed last week. Not very fun to watch again but at least it was UT playing "football" (or whatever they called it last year)

Man our WR group , while young, may be better this year.

We have gained so much speed in Teague,Nuke, Rogers

Before Moore was the only speed threat with Jones drawing doubles alot.

Wont be the case this year. All 3 newbies have the ability to beat a corner with speed and draw safety help. Getting off the corner press is another concern though. If they can do that consistently...watchout!

Losing Rogers hurts IMO. I know not a lot of people around here think he's all that, but he's a senior guy who has played a lot. Plus injuries to Jones and Moore hurt. Jones will miss most, if not all of fall camp. That is significant. We can only hope they aren't nagging injuries.

That said, I do think we are more productive this year from a WR standpoint, but that's not saying a whole heckuva lot really.

Any updates on b warren and his current grasp/progression with the offensive system? I am conditioned to think at least half of our potential playmakers "just can't seem to get it". Thanks Phil

Stephaun Raines is a go getter

I kind of have a soft spot for the underrated guy that has to go through as much as he did to make it in.

I hope Myles, Jackson, Gordon, et al have to live in his shadow for the next 3 years... and not because they're busts.

Given his blocking skills and overall toughness, Rogers would have been very helpful to our emphasis on the running game this year. You also can't dismiss the importance of the trust built through practice reps that Crompton and he have developed over all these years.

The thing about A. Rogers' injury that hurts is that he could play X, Z, and H in Kiffin's offense........Hancock is the only other guy who can do that right now and he's better outside at X and Z.......I know that Zack has been hitting the playbook hard with Austin (Austin had to learn it this year too, obviously).....so he may be able to line up at two of the spots and make some plays.

Gerald Jones should be ready for game 1.
Vinson in good standing.
CJ Fleming is working out with the team still.
Doesn't look good for Rogan.
Janzen Jackson and Myles both starting out playing Safety.
Oliver at CB.
Raines moved back to CB.
Players believe freshmen will have an impact but the surprise so far is Zach Rogers. He has really impressed the team as well as Nu'keese.
Rozier looks good but lacks confidence.
