A Letter From S. Carolina Concerning Lattimores Injury

I'm usually indifferent or even happy when an opposing player goes down; football is a violent sport and nobody forced them to play. However, these kind of injuries that are obviously career threatening just make me sick, especially for a college player like Lattimore who just goes out and takes care of business in a professional way. Such a shame that a special talent like him may never play again.

Spot on

That didn't quite work out with kiffy......

Well Kiffin would have been good here. And he would not have done all that stuff he did if Hammy had a sack and put Kiffin in his place. You do not see him doing this crap at USC under Pat Haden. I blame Hammy for what he let Kiffin get away with.

A Kiffen led team would have never approached the field.......Coach Dooley has coached this guys to be good people on and off. Ok, the results are not what we want, but in the BIG Picture......this could bring other players we need.

Go Coach!!

Classy kids being taught by classy coaches and a VFL program to help mold them into becoming good men as well.

That's the right direction for building a solid foundation to build upon and in the classy traditions of Tennessee football.

Not the Wins we want just YET but those will come.

When most all of our players started out or went way out on the field to show their genuine concern and respect for Lattimore and stood and applauded him as he was taken off the field that gained Tennessee more national respect then most people here will ever understand.

Parents of recruits take in lots more things when they're trying to help their kid decide which school to go play football at.

THINK...Parents are basically turning over their child to a Head Coach and his assistants to try and help raise, teach and mentor that child for 4 years of their most formative life to try and make them not only good football players but to also try to shape them into growing, maturing and becoming good men that will be a great credit to their family, to Tennessee, to our Country and most of all to themselves and that's a HUGE task when trying to work with 17 to 21 year old kids.

That means LOTS to the parents of kids about to leave home and head off to a college to play football and get a good education.

What's really heartbreaking is that our Vols were only 9 PLAYS away from Winning the SEC East Title....If our D had just stopped 9 BIG scoring plays we would have Won against Fla, UGa, MSU and USCe.

Hats off to CDD and his coaching staff for helping build good men that would do this and bring so much respect for the character of our footVol players.

I hate losing but my Vols players made me really proud at USCe in front of their most avid fans when they showed such class and respect for a kid that's a number 1 enemy on the football firld.

It's ALWAYS great to be a Tennessee fan!!!

Prayers and best wishes for Mr. Lattimore and I hope he fully recovers so he can reach his dream of playing in the NFL in the future.

VFL...GBO!!!
