"The University of Tennessee's close loss to the University of South Carolina last month was undoubtedly a disappointment for your loyal supporters. Despite it being a must-win for USC, the score seems far less important than what we all witnessed in the second quarter.

I thought the spontaneous demonstration of concern and respect by your team and supporters for our injured Marcus Lattimore was heart-warming. It's been a very long time since I've seen that kind of sportsmanship in big-time collegiate competition. It was a hard-fought game, both before and after the injury, and the way the members of your team conducted themselves was truly a class act.

I hope Tennessee knows just how much Gamecock supporters appreciate it."

At least we have class. I am so proud to be a Tennessee Vol.

I'm usually indifferent or even happy when an opposing player goes down; football is a violent sport and nobody forced them to play. However, these kind of injuries that are obviously career threatening just make me sick, especially for a college player like Lattimore who just goes out and takes care of business in a professional way. Such a shame that a special talent like him may never play again.

Have to say I was proud of the team for that display of concern and support! It truley was a heartfelt moment and the way the team responded made me proud to be a Vol!!

Also want to wish Mr. Lattimore a full and speedy recovery!

Yeah, I live in South Carolina and a lot of my friends are SC fans. After the game they we're all saying Tennessee is now there second team tagging me in facebook statuses. I still wish we would have whipped them!!!!

Having sat in Neyland for many years, I wish some of our fans could understand this lesson the team taught us and treat visiting fans of other teams with equal respect. Most of our fans do, but some act like they are a true enemy, which is absurd.The team taught us all you can have a good rivalry, but still support each other as fellow Americans and neighbors.

It was nice to see the team show some class in the situation and it's a testament to the type of person ML is and the respect people have for him. Good luck to ML in is recovery.

While watching the game that did make me proud to be a Vol. Prayers going up for Marcus and his family. Very classy by our guys. I do hope they win out, coaching changes or not. I just don't want to have the winter be brutal. It will already be bad. Go Big Orange.

I have been going to ut games for 20 yrs and besides a few idiots our fans usually treat others with idiots ......can't say the same for a few other opposing fans stadiums.

At the end of the day, we have to remember that these are 18-23 year old kids out there trying to make their seems come true. Regardless of their jersey, its never good to see someone hurting our injured. Class move by the boys in orange and white.
