The drop by Moore. If this play had been made we would've had a first down inside their 15 yard line. Instead, a pretty mediocre pass behind the receiver, but he still got both hands on it were dropped and that pretty much should've been caught. Why is no one blaming Moore any? I dont really know who he is or what year he is but its his fault as much as Ainge's.

He's a freshman and although it was a poor ball, he should have caught it but...This one still goes to Ainge. He made two bonehead plays that cost us the game...He made stupid mistakes that your senior QB is not supposed to make...

To quote my uncle, "There is a fine line between good and great" and Ainge is just an average QB, nothing more, nothing less....

The guy is a true freshman who honestly hasn't played much all year. He may be a decent reciever by the time he is done. Yea he should have caught the ball.

But come on Cutclife. If that is the best play you can come up with it's sad. You have Jones, Foster, Cottam, Brown, Taylor. Please tell me you at least thought of putting the ball in one of these guys hands with the game on the line.

Moore should have caught that ball...but the defense got it back, and Ainge blew the most important drive of the season.

When I first read the thread title I thought you were going to mention the fake field goal LSU successfully executed.

Funny how just about everyone had that in the back of their minds...except our Coaching Staff.

Ainge is the one to blame for that pass. You will hear about Moore next year. Him and Creer where high school teammates. He is a Freshman and will be a very good player. (IMO) I will say Moore did have a chance on that ball, he just dropped it.

Fake punt.

That was big, but the defense forced another punt 3 plays later.

The thought of the TE is too mind blowing to Cutcliffe. I still say he is the most over rated OC in the nation.

I thought the 1st down play after Berry's interception was a big play that seems to be forgotten.

The Vols had the ball at midfield, with lots of momentum...and on 1st down, Erik Ainge drifts out in the middle of nowhere, and has to throw it away on the busted play. The rest of the offense seemed to be on one page, and Ainge was off on his own...that drive went 3 and out, and it should have generated at least 3 points.

i think it was a poor decission to have a freshman in the field for the most important drive... i know the other WR's arent that gr8 either but atleast they have played a lot and puttin so much pressure on a freshman wasnt a great idea...

it wasnt a very bad throw either.. it was catchable for sure... i think people need to quit blaming ainge alone... the entire offense should take it... if lincoln had made those FG we just needed a FG to win.. so we need not go for the 4th down... if moore had caught the ball we could got a TD... if foster could have gone all the way and not being tackled from behind... there can be lots of plays that could have saved us... unfortunately ppl around ainge did not help either...

I swear it looked like they were setting up the taylor pass to Jones. (not sure what its called) Because Taylor was looking for a hand off on the play.

i second that... we have a 6' 8" senior in cottam who can catch anything in his vicinity... we have a TE in brown who gives his life out everytime he touches the ball... we are the same team that had witten... no wonder we under utilize our TE's

It may have been thrown slightly behind Moore, but the bottom line is the ball hit him on the chest. You can't expect, as a receiver, for the ball to perfectly fall right in your hands on every pass.

Welcome to phil ball. Where we play so tight that every little mistake is magnified. Our style forces us to play mistake free football. Enjoy for the next five years or so. Or until the prince of peach bowls decides to retire.
