If he has left Knoxville and touched down somewhere, it's not going to be an easy secret to keep. Reporters are undoubtedly looking for his next spot and that scoop. It'll break very quickly if he's at UCLA or SMU or any major school.

There's a ton of clicks, like there have been today for Thamel and others, in reporting where he is and where he's going.

My thoughts are that Nico's probably sitting somewhere with one of those funny accident videos running through his head: "Yeah, that's me. You're probably how I got here...."

He may HAVE a landing spot that's now saying, "Did we say $3M earlier? We've run the numbers and it's looking a lot more like $1.5M is the best we can do....." which would be cold hand of karma grabbing his curlys and squeezing.

But with Nico’s team, he’ll accept the $1.5m and of the Friday before the first game his crew will say double it or he’ll walk

Then you didn't get my post. They will be the 2 guys working with the 1s up until fall practice starts. That's my point about spring practice being overrated. We've had numerous big time football players who never participated in spring practice

Hate to say this but kids a moron. The difference bwhween 2 and 4 million this year is nothing compared to the money he will make in nfl if he lived up to his hype and how much the connections here would pay off after his career.


He did this because this is his only shot at big money. just don’t think he pans out in the nfl. He wasn’t a freshman last year like people acted. He had played in the bowl game previous year and was practicing all that year. It was obvious in 24 the speed of the game was too much for him and he couldn’t put the ball in tight windows.

This. Even if he performs well this year, this is going to make some teams question him. I think the kid has too many distractions to ever be more than mediocre

I think a large part of the blow back Nico is getting comes from a buildup by fans seeing the portal activity for the last 2 seasons. They are tired of the BS and greed. No rules capitalism combined with human nature.

I won’t call Nico a bust. He’s just not at a truly elite level yet. Him and Arch I believe are the only QBs out of that 23’ class that have really contributed to their programs and Arch hasn’t played a whole season yet. However, you have to respect the hell out of Arch for being a team guy and seemingly putting his head down and trying to earn it. I think Arch claimed he’s not taking any NIL money until he earns it. Respect.
