A good season in 07

Yes. Especially given the fact that EVERYONE will be picking Cal to win the opener again. I suspect that we will get enough contribution from the frosh receivers to contend for the SEC title... but we will drop a game or two.

FL in the swamp, and/or

Bama at Tuscaloser, and/or

South Carolina in Knoxvegas.

Georgia is good; they will struggle with losses in personnel, though Stafford will be a bright spot... but not against UT.

Arkansas will totally fold. They better hope McFadden really is Chuck Norris. He will have to win games singlehandedly because, by all outward appearances, their team/coaching chemistry is in the crapper.

I'd say 9-10 regular season wins. We can win the East if we fill in some holes. I think it will be a real "feast or famine" year.

Strengths:
QB
RB
TE/HB/FB
LB
ST

Weaknesses:
WR
OL
DL
DB

The weaknesses aren't bad, just very green. Plenty of talent in those areas, just not much experience.

We should be better this year. We have some holes to fill, but the schedule is more favorable than last year's.

There's no LSU on the schedule...Florida must replace a ton of starters on defense...we get Arkansas, Georgia, and South Carolina at home.

This is a schedule that should give us a great chance to get to Atlanta.

uh, yeah there is....:cray: .

There really isn't. Against the teams in the SEC with the same talent level, we have more experience. With the teams below us in talent, we have MORE talent. If we dont' win 10 regular season games, Fulmer has officially, 100%, lost it.

Watching other teams be successfull after changing out coaches puts extra preassure on CPF.

well i havent seen/heard much of the expectations for next season, but we're going to have the normal Fulmer season...9-3, 8-4...somewhere around there....it's not going to be any different...and two tough opening road games...if we open up with two losses, our national hopes are over.....

Then there you go - this is the season, regardless of the 2007 signing class, where UT needs to win the SEC. Georgia and Florida have restocked the last 2 years and beating them in 2008 and 2009 will be more difficult than this season. 2007 or bust.

In 2005, we had more talent than 5-6.

One loss pretty much kills our national hopes. 2 losses just weakens our SEC championship hopes. 3 losses kills New Years day bowl hopes. 4 losses kills recruiting. 5 losses sends Fulmer back to Winchester...

I can name 4 reasons...

1. Young wide receivers
2. Rebuilt O-line
3. Fulmer's conservative philosphy
4. Games at Gainesville and Berkeley in the first three weeks of the season.

1. Valid point, but Cutcliffe has been on record saying that, with the system we will be using, incoming WRs shouldn't have any issues if they get the QB/WR timing down.
2. The OL isn't rebuilt. We lost 2 OL from last year and have about 10 contributing OL that are FR, SO, or JR. It is a young line, but nothing we didn't deal with last year. Now they are more experienced.
3. Fulmer has always been conservative so this is a point addressed every year. We aren't as conservative on offense under Cutcliffe, though.
4. We have been playing better on the road in past seasons so this really isn't a huge deal.
