I gotta jump in on this debate on tradition. Tennessee has a great tradition, but I really don't think that is something that you can whack a Florida fan over the head with considering the absolute whoopin's we have received over the past 20 years. Second, 20 years does not make tradition. Yes, over the past 20 years Florida has been good, but you need to be good for another 60 to 80 years for that to develop into a "tradition". Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, those videos prove the claim of Gator fans throwing urine or other nasty stuff on rival fans or teams.

That's right, ACROSS THE ENTIRE COUNTRY no one has posted youtube video, pics, or anything sustaining any of your lies.

I'm sure that in the course of a 12 game season, with 90,000 plus fans going to each game there are some drunk jerks that are UF fans and said some nasty stuff or got into fights or threw cokes at people. Just like everywhere.

But the claim that it is uniquely a Florida phenomenon, OR EVEN THE SLIGHTEST BIT worse at UF than anywhere else is utter crap.

And you know it.

Lawgator,I can tell you first hand.I was in the swamp in 93 and I personally saw liter whiskey bottles and full very large cokes coming out of the upper deck into the Tennessee section.I am not here to argue with you because there is no argument because I witnessed it myself.Also it was coming from different parts of the section and not just 1 or 2 people involved,it happened the entire game!

Everyone has some anecdote. Yours is from 18 years ago.

I've been yelled at at an FSU game. In 1987.

I don't hang onto it as some sort of claim that FSU therefore sucks and its -- what did that idiot say? -- "representative" of FSU fans.

I posted those videos in response to your statement that the "superclassless" gator fan is a myth.

Dude, who cares. Really. Who cares. Your fans have no cred and people hate them. They are jerks and that's it. You aren't making the case any better being on a UT blog writing this type of stuff. I certainly don't care at all about writing on a gator board. The less I have to hear or see about those people the better.

You sound upset. You should consider talking this over with some other gator fans. Together, I am sure you can convince yourselves that you are relevant and important.

Seriously? Are you talking about Muschamp building back the Florida program that was a joke until Spurrier came in the 90's??? Don't come on here and act like Florida is something more than Tennessee. When you have a history like Tennessee and have as many wins as Tennessee then you can come on here and bullcrap about rebuliding your new age bull crap program that didn't exist until the 90's.. My anecdote is from the Auburn game in 1991, it involves the Auburn fan's throwing cokes from the upper deck on us. Not really relevant, but I thought I would throw that out there.

I am sure other Vol fans will run to the rescue and set me right. They will tell me that really people all over the country secretly love gator fans. They love to be around them and the best and most lovely place to attend a football game is the swamp.

As for me, I only graduated from UT with a 3.49 gpa, so I am not among the best. But I do have a Masters from OU and am on a Fellowship to Georgetown.

What I said is correct. Google worst college fans and see what you find.

Deny it all you want but the truth remains.I am not saying you did it, but I am saying I saw it myself.Was it 18 years ago,duh,I never said it was'nt. So what is your point??It still happened.I held season tickets in Knoxville for over 25 years and sat behind the student section and NEVER saw the disgrace I saw in florida!So I suppose since I have no pics(I went to a football game not a photo shoot),it didnt happen.

Several are rated number #1 and are on lists, LSU, PSU, and so on. I will say this, most people I talk to (SEC fans) agree UF has the worst fans. Maybe that's why you are on this site and not on a UF site! If that's the case, then you should insist on improving things there...and here, by focusing your time and attention on UF boards.

I started here because, unlike you, I don't need reaffirmation for a fragile ego.

I stayed out of habit.

And am here now because our annual tilt is now less trhan a week away, and its a fun time of year for me as I'm a big college football fan.
