Anyone heard of the KOR-FX gaming vest??

KOR-FX 4DFX Haptic Gaming Vest

It uses the same haptic feedback technology found in smart phones. This takes nerdiness to an entirely different level.

The KOR-FX gaming vest uses award-winning 4DFX technology that transforms the acousto-haptic signals (audio) coming from your games or media into pinpointed high-definition feedback that allows you to feel the on-screen action and environmental factors for the first time. Explosions rattle you. The blades of your attack chopper thump in your chest. It’s the next generation of environmental realism.

I remember back in the mid - late 90's something like this was out. It was a major disappointment. I'd imagine this being about the same

Well, the argument here is that all the tech leading up to this have been rumble pack style products that cannot detect regions or differences in responses - it was just crude, linear vibrations.

This haptic tech can do a lot of different things and response vary depending on the audio; so being hit was a bullet in the chest would product a more centered and powerful response than riding in a helicopter.

I actually know someone who has one of these and helped fund the kickstarter for it. Says the first unit he got was DOA; took him months to get a replacement. And he still hasn't tried it out.

He's got a coupon for 50% off on one of these things....i'm tempted.
