Not sure if you've ever had a nerve block before but doesn't matter whether you have it or don't, you get the pain no matter what. Its a matter of now or later.
I had one when I had rotator cuff sx. It was a lunch-ish sx time so all was well. Until I went to bed. About midnight I came straight up out of bed. All pain that wasn't there stored up and came back at one swoop.
For my shoulder surgery, I started taking the painkillers well before the nerve block wore up. Nurses told me that before I was discharged. Not sure if you've ever had a nerve block before but doesn't matter whether you have it or don't, you get the pain no matter what. Its a matter of now or later.

I did also. But at 1:30 Tuesday morning, I def knew it had worn off.
I think mine wore off in about 12-16 hours. Did yours completely numb your arm? The nerve block I got made my arm numb and limp like a dead fish. Couldn't move hand/fingers. You could have hacked it off with a machete and I wouldn't have felt a thing.
You don't realize how heavy an arm is until you try to lift someone's who had a nerve block
(Not kidding). When I had my second eye surgery, worst thing ever! They can sedate you but they can't put you asleep. So, you're awake while they put a needle in your eye to try to reattach the Retina.. I don't wish it on anyone but bombers and child molesters
