A final thanks to Coach Jones

We appreciate the work ethic, recruiting top players, bring in Josh Dobbs and other players to represent the University well. The bowl games were fun and several exciting games.

No need to dwell on the negatives, at the end of the day it just wasnt good enough. No hard feelings and good luck in the future.

Waaaayyyy too soon. Sit on this, let the stories come out, and then ask Freak to delete this one for you.

Tend to agree with this.

This is the same guy who was spouting off the same sales pitch to Purdue and Colorado when he was hired, tried to back channel his way to Purdue last season, and spent five seasons trying to convince everyone of how lucky we were to have him.

Figure he will take some parting shots on the fan base through the press and play the victim card.

Love is conditional as long as his contract was being renegotiated and extended.

Break a story of moral wrongdoing and nothing will happen to you.

They don't report on UT football for the "moral good of all". They are there to make a living and support their families. To call them out for protecting their own interests is just ridiculous.

You act like media members are the only people that need courage to stand up against moral wrongdoing and have a possible consequence. I have no respect for any of them.

Was speaking in the media context because that was the area of contention that this entire conversation started on.

Do I like it? No - people should be able to bring this stuff to light without fear of consequences or retribution. But it's just not how society works, particularly with regards to exposing the powerful/wealthy/connected.

Butch, thank you for your efforts. I'm sure you feel betrayed, but then again, I'm sure you understand. We believed in, we had your back for 4 years. We voiced our opinions, you had several chances to make things right and fix things. We admire the changes you made and problems you corrected. Thank you for giving your all and we wish and your family nothing, but the best going forward

Couldn't agree more. Butch was a real class act after Kiffen and Dooley. I just wish he could have coached half as well as he recruited.

This was long overdue and hopefully Larry Scott will be packing his bags as well.

Listen to the former players calling in and telling their stories on Basilio. It’s like thanking someone for falcon punching you in the nuts. Save your thanks and appreciation, snowflakes. Guy was a complete fraud and screwed the program.

No hard feeling on my side. He tried his best, he got us back to 8/9 wins but couldn't sustain or build on it. Time to go. Good luck in the future. I think he'll do well going back to a minor conference

It’s your opinion, got it. Media historically is checks and balances for power. Sensationalism is digging dirt when no story is there, or reporting opinion as fact

Personally, I admire folks who go out and report news bc of this. I can do without the political agendas but reporting news, specifically facts - is an important cog in this Country. I appreciate that. Again, you shared your opinion. I shared mine. I enjoy different viewpoints.

Butch had a lot of people fooled on how he treated the kids and how he cleaned up the program. Actually he took a s*** on Tennessee and wiped his a** h the fans.

Salute to the most arrogant human to ever coach college sports. Remember a couple years ago when the prick said **** you to his entire fan base in his own stadium when they questioned one of his idiot decisions? Nope, didn't think you did.

I tried to call Butch and thank him, but he was on the other line trying to talk a recruit out of playing for my Alma Mater.
