UT just dominated NC State. Let's just say that first of all. A great game. Now, a couple comments I had about the game.

1) CP was a beast in the game. His 67 yard run got me off my feet cheering the whole run. That's what UT running should look like.
2) Da'Rick who? Even without Da'Rick, UT made NC State look like a middle school defense. Everyone was beating their man and Bray was sending bullets to the wrs.
3) How about that O-Line? It was a huge problem last year. Looks like Dooley got it worked out and I don't see UT having the offense trouble it did last year.

Simply put...Things are looking up.

I enjoyed the game. I really did. I look forward to more wins like this (except in the kentucky game of course!).

Go Vols

O-line has to be much better in SEC play as far as run blocking not impressed though it was better

Sure, the run game wasn't as strong this game. But at least Bray got protected. O-Line will get better. By not coming out and letting Bray get sacked and harassed the game was good enough for me.

2 dominant wins going into Florida will be a huge confidante booster for this team.

It was a good game. There's a lot of room for improvement though

Remember, the most improvement occurs between the first and second game. I expect we will see a greatly improved team on both offense and defense during the next two games. This is going to be a great season.

KirályVol - Really good point. Can't wait to see this team beat UF. I was afraid they would be 1-2 after that game but with the momentum now, pretty pumped to see how the Vols play.

The thing is Florida will lose today against Bowling Green. Fla has a lot of people out and BG has a gunslinger tool.

McCullers is signifant at NG.. No yards inside when he is in.. That wasnt the case with Hood and Clarke.

I noticed that one commentator on TV said that the biggest improvement comes between the first and second games of the year. Let's hope that is right and we'll be off and running.:good!:

For the most part i thought the run blocking looked good when Lane was running, Neal seemed to dance and tip toe to the outside quite a bit. We gotta pound that pill right down their throats! :banghead2:

Tennessee needs to make a point of running between the tackles on Georgia State. We will need this against the SEC teams.

I agree with you. Some of the runs to the outside may have been designed but I still think we need to concentrate on running inside, especially against Georgia State. We have to see if our O-line can consistently move people off the line.

At the first of the game those runs to the outside by Neal did look good, but i think SEC defenses will be much faster out on the edges and those type of runs may not be as successful. Our o-line is gonna need to get some good run blocking (in the middle) time in against Georgia st. in preparation for tha Gatas! We will get better and this is gonna be a promising year i believe.
