A few things from the game tonight

Matt did what he was asked to do, manage the game and make safe throws. Get off the guy's back. The Messiah doesn't look remotely ready to be starting so we better hope Matt stays healthy.

I agree. They need to do something about that. There can't be more than about 6 feet from the pylon to the wall.

Hopefully before someone gets seriously injured.

Going with what I saw tonight it looks like we are in for a long season. UTM was just way overmatched and we still had problems, the 1st team should have been off the field the entire second half. They just didn't look very good considering who they were playing!

I don't know where you have been for much of this year, but I believe it was expected that we would have a long year..

However, going with what I saw from the 1st team tonight it is better than expected, and if you expected better play than that you are a crazy man.

Oh, it doesn't matter though.. Even while throwing a pick, looking completely flustered, and all of this coming against UT-Martin he should still be starting.. Right? lol

If we don't get better play than we did tonight UF, Bama and the rest will mop the floor with this team. No way UTM should ever have gotten pressure on Simms. if they could put pressure on him multiple times what do you think Bama will do?

Nick Reviez played, and played well. He was in on nearly every tackle up the middle. I heard his name called several times. He's a run stopper, not a glitzy pass rusher. I know he will work his tail off this year, and I hope he is able to get some all SEC honors to show for it. Great kid.
Glad to hear that Nick Reveiz had a good game. I watched the game on ESPN3, and never heard his name called.

I hope Simms can get the football down. Throwing the football high is dangerous (especially when you play a good defense). Our kicker was another area of concern.

Don't see why some of you are saying they should of been playing the 2nd string the whole second half. If you noticed they were running a pretty basic O and D. I didn't see one screen play or trick play other than a end a round that went for a TD. The D had basic blitz package and coverage. Im sure they could have threw everything and the kitchen sink at them but then what would they confuse Oregon with? Overall I think they played a good game had a little slump but glad to see them come out of it and light it up after half time. Also it showed real class by DD at the end by taking a knee instead of running up the score on a in state school.

Am I the only one who thought Simms pretty much sucked tonight for 95% of the game? Maybe it wasn't as bad as it looked, but if that was Oregon they would have picked him off probably three or four times.

I thought he threw a few balls high. Didn't think he threw late which can be the killer. It's a win. He did ok. He didn't suck...... Ole Miss sucked.

Whoever is saying that Simms played "well" needs to get off the koolaid.

If you didn't already think those teams would do that to us you have been living in la-la land.
