1. Who played point guard when Maze had to take breaks?

2. When will Tabb and Childress be back?

3. Will Childress get much playing time?

4. Will Tabb play any point guard?

5. Did it seem like Smith and Prince have improved their jumpshots?

I was about to post a thread asking questions 1,2,4 and 5.

Instead of 3, which I predict will get a "No" answer, I was going to ask if UTC was playing D last night - was it more of UT executing or UTC laying down?

Anyone who attended or watched the game want to answer? Much appreciated.

2. No idea
3. No
4. Probably 5 minutes a game or so
5. Both have improved. Prince considerably. Keep in mind thats only after seeing Smith in 3 games and Prince in 1.

Tennessee managed to make the extra pass all night, setting up easy baskets. They shot 64% and can keep it up all year if they play that unselfish.

One thing that really stood out is that Prince changed his play style between being at the point and not. When he was at point he was very conservative and looked to distribute. At the wing he was looking for a shot. It was really nice to see.

.

1. ...and Hubert
2. I think it's next week, at least for Tabb
3. Agreed
4. More like 10-12
5. Agreed for the most part, but it's just one game.

2.Hopefully soon. Hopefully never.
3.If he does then bring on the NIT.
4.He should, I think we'll be surprised with Tabb's progress on the offensive end.
5.It's hard to tell in one game. I know Smith has worked hard and it showed toward the back half of the year last season. As for Prince, I doubt it even though it was encouraging to see him hit two tough ones last night. Time will tell for him, I guess.

obviously #3 is not true. Alot of fans thought he would break out after the Ohio St. game.

Everyone needs to stop talking about Childress. You might have seen the last of him in a UT uniform save for garbage time in February.

I think childress played as hard as he could. he just doesn't have what we need. I do respect him as a player though.

Exactly, maybe playing at Alcorn State he could have been a serviceable player. Bottom line, Childress should see no time playing with the type of athletes we have right now at our school. He at least got a free ride through the deal. The same goes for Pearl.

wow...bold prediction. I seriously don't think that would be the case. even if he does come back, what makes you think he'd get those kind of minutes?

I don't, I'm just saying for the Childress lovers' out their that he deserves to not see any significant minutes in a game this year. I don't have anything against the guy, but that's just the bottom line.

there are no Childress lovers out there, i just think you're putting too much blame on him. To say we would be 10-6 in conference just because of him is absurd. He wasnt hurting us in the '05-'06 season or the '06-'07 season. Don't take the post personal or anything.

My guess is that Tabb is going to take Stephen Pearl's spot in the rotation (Pearl may still get 3-4 minutes a game.) The minutes Pearl was getting at the 3 spot will be taken over by J.P.

Childress needs to play two or three minutes a game in side the paint to give are two big men some rest and by the way childress is a pretty good 3 point shooter for being a big man, he has earned a little playing time in each game.

I don't think the person was saying we'd be 10-6 because of his play, but because something major would have to happen if that was to be the case- ie injury, suspension, Ramar Smith syndrome, etc.

How soon we forget of the contributions that Childress made in our biggest games of the '06-07 season vs Virginia(10 pts 8 rbs) & OSU (12 pts 3 rbs) and 6-7 combined 3pt shooting. I know we have better atheletes now but that's great shooting at the most important time of year so I wouldn't mind him getting a chance for a few mins a game.

A few questions after last night's game.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Who played point guard when Maze had to take breaks?
J.P. Prince for the most part but Hubert got about 5 minutes if that out there.

2. When will Tabb and Childress be back?
Tabb will be back for tonights game against UT-Martin, and Childress i dont think will ever step on the floor again.
3. Will Childress get much playing time?
NOOO

4. Will Tabb play any point guard?
I think it will depend on how he does. I think Pearl would like to put him at point over J.P so that J.P can plaly the 3 so that Steven Pearl doesnt play as much as he did the other night. BUT if Tabb doesnt play well at the point then you may see significant minutes for J.P at the point.

5. Did it seem like Smith and Prince have improved their jumpshots?
Tylers shot (the few he took outside the paint) looked good, alot better than last season. It looks like he is going to have to atleast get respect from defenders to guard him behind the line. J.P looked great in every aspect of the game, he hit a step back 2 but it would have been a 3 by the old line. He had another long jumper as well, his shot looked 100x better than last years, unfortunately he got into foul trouble saturday so didnt get a real good look.

Prince, I think. Hopson and Tatum are too similar to have playing at the same time while Prince is sitting on the bench.

Yea i would definetely have to go with J.P. Hopson isn't going to lose starting at the 2 especially how he played saturday, and Tatum plays more of a 2 than a 3. I think it'll be soon when we see J.P get back in the starting 5 and Woolridge become his back up.
