A few outliers?

I've seen plenty of burnt up folks. Meth doesn't make you crazy either, just the after effect.

Meth can make you a very dangerous person if you enjoy making other people suffer. Completely rewires your pleasure/reward system. Isn't a stretch to say that someone who starts off getting kicks intimidating people and abusing females can become a rapist/murderer while using meth.

Opium might make you steal to support the habit, but if its a serious habit you're going to be too sick to be that hard too deal with

Dude...no way. You are an educated guy that believes in historical reference. Perhaps you need to check out the invasion of Europe that happened way, way, way before the Crusades by looking up Charles Martel. Or the fact that Islam spread by the sword in the Middle East and North Africa. And check out the Battle of Vienna while you're at it. Or the entire Ottoman invasion of Europe for that matter.

Don't even try to play this "they wouldn't be a threat if we left them alone" BS. Islam was spreading violently well prior to Pope Urban II getting involved.

I'm really just talking about recent history. We weren't a target. France wasn't a target. They just fought among themselves and their neighbors until the reinstatement of Israel and then the CIA coup in Iran. It's been all downhill since then. There was a reason we had an embassy in Iran in the first place. We were on fairly good terms at one time.

It was tongue and cheek ape.

How did Bin Laden become an important military leader in Afghanistan? O yeah, we armed him!

And we knew the rebels had ties to Al Queda, and we still armed them! Many of them didn't just give their weapons over to ISIS. Many of them joined ISIS.

Islamic extremists aren't a problem until US politicians and corporations decide to arm them.

And if you truly don't believe any of this, let me know which part and I'll be glad to support my claims.

Please show me where the U.S. armed bin Laden during the Soviet-Afghan Invasion. Verified sources please, not some Alex Jones craziness.

And show me where we knew all the rebels we supported had ties to al-Qaeda.

An show me where we specifically arm Islamic extremists. And how we're the only nation culpable in this matter as you didn't address the Russian/Soviet connection. Or that of Iran. Or that of the PRC that supplied arms into the ME for decades.

You capture a snapshot of recent history, okay. I would prefer to use a more broad focused approach over time. But you are correct for the most part that in the past century or so they have stuck within their lands.

But can you explain the Barbary Pirates that were practicing terrorist tactics that involved the United States in it's infancy?

But on the Iran matter...do you believe our people, our citizens should have been held hostage by a hostile foreign government for 444 days? And meaning that good term relationship that turned sour practically overnight that led to them storming our embassy and taking Americans hostage?

Not sure what the point is here? Are we talking about any kind of terror tactic used by MEs (why?) or are we talking about religious fanatics who use terror tactics? I don't judge Christianity by the pirates that come from Christian nations.

Of course our people shouldn't have been held hostage. Why ask? It didn't turn sour overnight. Iranians hated us because they hated the puppet regime we set up (1953). It seemed like over night to us because we were blissfully unaware (still it seems) that we ****ed up.

A somewhat more recent example of terrorism that affected our nation without being provoked. Just a historical example.

Anyhow, you actually hit on the points I was making with the Iran situation. Take Cuba in the late 1950s and our support for Batista over Castro. And before the end, we pulled the support for him in favor of Castro. And the same rationale you use (we were meddling in their affairs and set up the governments many decades before) led to the people supporting Castro.

Backfired in a big way and conditions continued to deteriorate leading to us leaving in 1961.

We supported the change of power from the Shah to Khomeni under pretty similar conditions. And again backfired in a huge way. The main difference is the Cubans didn't storm our embassy and hold our people hostage even though we had a far greater footprint in Cuba than we ever did Iran. Yet fundamentalists, Islamic radicals if you would, allowed and encouraged our citizens to be taken hostage because of perceived injustices.

Two very similar cases with two entirely different outcomes. And there's the main difference in the mindset of radical Islam and the rest of the world. Your "outliers" as you say sanction terroristic acts on a national level, allow radicals to flourish and condone attacks against individuals that have been protected by international law for decades if not centuries.

Should we water board all christians to know their true intent?
Of course! Christians have proven over the past 50 years to be just as dangerous as muslims, especially with all of the plane bombings, daily suicide bombings, aircraft piloted into buildings, car bombings, random mass murders, stoning, forced self immolation, forced drownings, beheading, and running people over in tanks that the christians do!

Oh wait, they haven't been doing all of that? Oh yeah another ignorant ass apologetic self guilt ridden libtard attempt to paint christians as being as equally evil as muslims. Your deep seeded islamophobia would be hilarious if it wasn't for the fact that you are so scared you are willing to pretend everything they do in the the name of their religion actually isn't in the name of their religion.

What is your point? My point is the terrorists are not representative of their religion/culture as a whole. As a whole, they are definitely different from us, but the more we try to focus on this and paint them all as terrorists, the worse this problem will become. Just look at the last 50 years. There was virtually no problem, whatsoever (from our perspective).
Mobility and access to weaponry has improved in the last 50 years.

I could tell you more things wrong about Islamic doctrine than you'll ever know, but I believe in a person's right to have religious freedom as long as they aren't imposing their beliefs on others. You know, that's kind of a big deal in America. Radical extremists? **** em. Deport them, put them in prison, kill them if necessary. What I am not willing to do is lump every single Muslim into that category, just like I would not lump every single Christian into the KKK. It's just that simple. It's a distinction you seem unwilling to make because it's easier for you just to hate all Muslims. That's your tribalism instincts taking over instead of your critical thinking ability.

My last system was an Xbox 360 and I barely played it. I would say my glory years were the days of PS2 and gamecube.

I believe your last sentence to be very true.

Firstly, Obby's post was apparently tongue in cheek about water boarding every muslim. But 79 must think that's a fantastic idea. What do you think?
It's an argument not worthy of thought. I'd certainly waterboard ones that could lead to information that could lead to prevention of another Paris. Then I would shoot them in the face once I have that information.

Nah. He didn't say that.

He told you the truth. About you and the like.

The truth about what? I made an absurd post(waterboard all christians) in response to an absurd post(waterboard all muslims).

If you read something else into it, that's certainly not my problem.

lol

Yep, because ISIS isn't selling oil on the black market.

And because Al Qaeda wasn't being funded by bin Laden.

And ISIS capturing US weapons that were originally supplied to Iraqi Security Forces does not equal the US "arming" them. If that was the case, the Russians are equally as guilty in arming them since Syrian equipment originally from Russia/Soviet Union has been (and continues to be) used by ISIS.

Your facts are so completely absurd ad outrageous I've tried not to address them since you do a pretty good job of shooting yourself in the foot. But you really haven't reached the point where you know when to stop so I feel it's past time you were presented facts instead of silly conspiracy theories from obscure websites.
You've brought up another good point. Who is buying the oil from ISIS?
