An infant needs its diaper changed.At some point a toddler wants its diaper changed.The toddler actually needs its want.Can't you see this dad needs a bright spot now.If you knew this family personally your opinion could be understood.Man it's a big ole world out there with every situtation you can imagine.Can't you see a situtation where a family actually needs this gesture of kindness?

I doubt he is a lawyer , there only 3 or 4 male lawyers in Dayton and only 1 is under 50 and and over half of the people that needs lawyers goes to Chatt or Cleve to get one.

Single family, living in vehicles for certain periods of time, eating 1 meal a day, very few clothes to wear, no coats in the winter, no school supplies etc... Think about how many of them never even had internet or a cell phone. No one here is suggesting that you haven't been through some tough times. I'm just trying to put your request into perspective.

It boils down to this request seriously just being a desire and not a need when you compare it to what others don't have. We're glad that your son is going to have this opportunity, now, but it simply can't be argued that your request is anything other than a want.

Why does it matter? The man is working to pay for his needs. He reached out to ask for his wants, for his son. It would be worse if he blew his own money on his wants, instead of feeding and clothing his son. That is the way I look at it.

Sure. I give to Make-a-Wish so kids with life threatening illnesses can have a want not a need.

If everything the OP said is true I still disagree with asking people on the internet for a handout. Save the money and go next year or to a game at the end of the season. I'm sure there is something that can be cut out of the guy's budget that will allow him to save to provide for himself. The OP isn't doing his son any favor by teaching him to ask for things he can't afford.

Here's my point: The OP may be full of $#^% (although I don't believe he is). BUT, it doesn't mean one of the Vol Nation can't offer to help the guy - even if he gets played for a fool.

In my eyes, if there's even a remote chance that a Father and Son get a chance to bond over the VOLS (a lifelong bond and memory, IMO), wouldn't it be worth it to pay out $150 to give someone that joy? Stop judging. If you don't like it, keep it to yourself.

Huh. I didn't see where the OP disclosed his income, budget and spending habits. I have a Dave Ramsey book the guy can borrow.

So you are saying his kid is without clothes and food then? We get it, you don't care if the guy gets tickets or not, you just want to b**** about him getting some. If it makes you feel that bad, I will buy you some tickets. I will even send them to you in the mail. It is your conscious if you don't use them, not mine.

I still remember my first vol game in the early 90's with my dad, I was roughly 5. One of my most fond memories as an adult now, have fun! I'm glad someone could help, GBO!

The thing that you need to understand is that nobody cares about you or your opinion on the matter. It doesn't involve you. It doesn't hurt you in any way for Pacer to take a chance on helping somebody with tickets to a game.

It DOES NOT MATTER whether you think he should do it. Period. Nobody cares what you think about it.

Attend to your own affairs and let others be.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit huh? He promised his son he would take him before he fell on hard times. He has been working extra to cover TWO paychecks since his wife couldn't work. He told his son they couldn't go, it broke his heart, so he reached out to try and give his son something he wanted. If he didn't get it, his son wouldn't go.

So how exactly is that taking his son to something he can't afford? By your logic, we shouldn't feed kids that have no food cause they can't afford it. Do you protest toys for tots? Their parents can't afford those toys either.

I could care less what the OP makes, saves, has, ect. Dude may be a hard worker who can out work any guy on this board, or he may be lazy and wasteful. Who knows.

What's cool is seeing kids happy. I have a 4 year old and 3 year old and there is nothing like seeing them happy. Hope the little man has the time of his life.

I didn't get to go to my first game in Neyland until I was married and saved it up. My parents never could afford it, but it taught me that if I wanted to enjoy things like the Vols I should work hard, & save money.

I was able to take 4 teens to Neyland a couple of years ago for their first game. Nothing like being able to share something like that with people who have never been there.

This... My 3 year old wants everything... There's a fine line between the kid really wanting to go (which I’m sure he does but he probably no more than really wanting that toy at wal-mart or really wanting a happy meal or really wanting a puppy… you get the point) and the dad really wanting to take the kid. Either way it's a sad situation, but to merit getting on a message board asking for free tickets and not offering any service in return? I don't know... Plus the guy asking if he wants to mail them if their schedules don't work and wanting a ticket for the wife is a little sketchy.

Posters shouldn’t kid themselves, although this thread is filled with many congratulations to Pacer for his thoughtful act of mercy and kind words to the OP, there are many people that do not completely agree with the request and subsequent responses. They're just too afraid to post anything for fear the mob with get them. (an anonymous poll might be a more accurate indication of everyone’s true feelings)

I don’t think it’s the best thing to just come out guns a blaz’n like the 5905 (or whatever) guy did but to have questions and to be cautious of the situation does not make you a bad person.

funny that I clicked on this thread immediately after I just gave two tickets to a coworker who can't afford tickets herself. They happen to be the season opener for Vandy playing USC. She is a South Carolina fan and she can't ever make it all the way to Columbia to see a game coming from Nashville. All I asked from her was to cheer loud against the Commodores....

Awesome that Pacer was kind enough to give you and your family tickets....hope everything works out and you enjoy the game. Maybe I'll see you there...I'll be the one dressed in orange with a beer in hand and flask in back pocket. cheers!!
