A&E decides

Most aren't. Most hate gays. I work in civil service..so lots of affirmative action Obama voter types..they talk about gays like Hitler talked about Jews. I've heard guys saying they wish they could gas them all..then complain about Koch Brothers/Palin/Bush/Limbaugh or whoever MSNBC told them to ***** about that day. Oh and they complain about white people saying the N word..:whistling:

A lot of people might say they don't but we all know how that worlds. Liberal darlings Alec Baldwin and Sean Penn come to mind...

My time around every hetereo male I've worked with over 20 years.

You can see guys engage others in conversation even when one person has little to no interest in a subject. Fishing, hockey, religion, politics, landscaping, gf/wife, whatever.

But I have never seen another guy ask a gay employee anything about their personal life or want anything to do with knowing about it. And that is on the polite end of the spectrum, many fall on the other end of the spectrum.....rude/hateful.

And you both have just touched on why the gay community feels the need to respond when a celebrity/public figure makes comments like these. Although society is much more accepting of gay people today, there is still a lot of misinformation, fear and sometimes hatred of gay people. Those comments serve to perpetuate that sentiment, and it can have a negative impact on those gays folks already struggling with their sexuality. And all of this simply because gay people are different. They aren't evil, or criminal or really very different from straight folks save one thing.

Also, I find it annoying when people introduce themselves with that extra credit as well. I have never opened a conversation talking about my sexuality; that's just weird.

That's interesting. Maybe a generational difference, but the people I associate with, whether it's family, work, or friends are very different from that.

That being said, this is all anecdotal evidence based on our experiences and meaningless with regard to the question of whether or not the majority is cool with it.

I didn't know you worked with LG ...

Honestly, I do get that. Just strikes me as funny how often homosexuality, bestiality and pedophilia follow one another when listing sins. For whatever reason those seem to go together in a lot of minds.

As they should. How are they different? All three are sexual perversions. The difference would be that in bestiality and pedophilia, in most cases one side is innocent. That's my opinion, of course.

Cracker Barrel has issued a statement:

Cracker Barrel’s mission is Pleasing People. We operate within the ideals of fairness, mutual respect and equal treatment of all people. These ideals are the core of our corporate culture. We continue to offer Duck Commander products in our stores. We removed selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation. We continually evaluate the products we offer and will continue to do so.

They offer the products but removed selected products?

Depends on what your definition of "perversion" is. I'm sure some would consider certain sexual positions as "perversions". I think it boils down to whatever consenting adults decide to do in private, no matter what it is, doesn't belong along side pedophilia and bestiality.

I hear ya brother.

What's weird is Facebook is reporting they are selling all the products. Standing behind Phil 100%.

So who knows.

I'd like to see em on history channel or true tv or even cmt..too big of a following just to up and quit.

I guess I don't get the big deal.

The man is certainly entitled to his opinion. No question about that.

A&E is certainly entitled to dismiss him from their programming. No question about that.

In fairness to Duck Dynasty, the could do much better than A&E anyway.

If i were Phil i would tell em to suck my duck and to duck off !!

Just a hunch on my part but, I don't think for a minute that Phil is too torn up about the situation. I also think sponsors of the show are too quick to respond to judgement like Cracker Barrel. They're too afraid of losing a couple of bucks by association. I never knew they were one of those that were a sponsor for the show.
