A Different Team Came Out Of That Locker Room

Pruitt must have lit a fire under some a**es during that rain delay. Our D is attacking and taking the ball away. Hell they're starting to like a Pruitt D. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

GBO

I would like to see the same percentage of improvement during the next game as well.

ETSU is no where near as talented as other teams. They are basically a new program with basically sightly advanced HS players. We should demolish them, and that's what we are supposed to see. They are getting paid to be a practice team for us. Hopefully we work on some issues and get some experience. That being said, I'm glad the team isn't disappointing. Tennessee will still be smaller and underwhelming in stature. Improving yes, but 6 months doesn't complete a change in body. If it did, early enrollees would look like 4 year players at fall camp. They need more time in the gym and bigger players recruited and such before Tennessee looks comparable to aL and gA.
How often does the team lift during the season?

I agree something was said/changed in the weather break. We looked god awful before on offense and had like 5 rushing yards. Then we came out and just put the hammer to a bad team which we can’t say we’ve done in a while. Does that mean we can beat an sec team? Only time will tell but manhandling then after the weather break is a step forward. What we can’t do is start slow against our sec opposition. Got to play hard and focused from the opening whistle. If we can do that we will be in games against UF, USC, KY

I think Tennessee will get a big win over Florida

Oh and as for Vandy, it’s agianst my soul to think we aren’t going to beat them. I just can’t do it.

I think Vandy will start playing like Vandy again and Tennessee will beat both Kentucky and Vanderbilt. I still think Vandy goes 0-8 in the SEC this season.

I don't know specifics for everyone, but I think most lift about 5 days a week. My understanding is that most of those reps are conditioning oriented and maintaining strength vs blasting and growing muscle mass. Coupled with the different nutritional requirements they need during the season vs those for off-season workouts. It isn't like the old days where during the season guys got in shape and outside of it got fat. These guys mold their bodies to perform during the season and try and maintain it as it goes on.

Watching Ky-Fl game. They are both better than us right now. Look more fluid/cohesive/solid team for their level of talent. But if we had an Oline or 1-2 SEC caliber more DL and a gelled O line we could hang. May have a chance by KY but don’t think we are there by Florida. Just hope we look like a semi SEC team by end of year that just needs a few more big uglies in the rotation to get us back in the pack or chance at a hunt next year
This is beyond stupid. Being a fan of UT and UF the gators looked bad last night, receivers can’t catch o line can’t block and defense can’t tackle. I think UF is in worse shape than UT and will be for a few more years because butter teeth didn’t recruit well at all

Yeah Jim McElwain was a horrible recruiter

At least there are teams worse than ETSU they won 5 games two years ago and 4 last season so nine times they have beaten the other team. I know they are not a very good team but they are not the worst team in college football.

Quoting your post when it is a close game with UF or their line handles ours.

Calling me beyond stupid because I think UF and KY have better line play than us as of today? Have you watched us play?

Our skill players are as good as them and JG may be better than Franks if had time. But those teams have more consistency on the lines than us so far and it isn’t close. We may get there as the season goes on.

How about you have reasonable discussion and not call something “beyond stupid” and grow up. I do agree McElwain screwed the pooch but so did Butch’s reverse development

Edit: i’ll Happily eat crow if our lines come out and dominate UFs but unless we progress a ton or this is all communication errors that can be fixed quickly. That ain’t happening

You would be hard pressed to even find a Gator to agree with you on their line play. Both are hot garbage.

Well that is prob reasonable. I just looked at the screen and both teams looked more cohesive then ours. I think we get there but just looked more like they knew what they were doing and were to be. Saw same thing earlier for UGa/SC.

Just seems like every team I watch knows where they are going on O line and we don’t. Like we have the size but don’t look like a line. Hopefully that is changing.

Anyway. My bigger point was UK and UF looks like two division I programs playing against each other. Our skill players can but our Oline is all over the place. That started to improve after the lightning delay yesterday though. See how it goes
