I think he meant we look like a totally different team than we did in the 1st quarter.I want to agree but we're basically playing against a high school team in terms of skill/talent. I'm glad for the guys to get hyped and get confident and it's going to help them mentally but let's pump the brakes a smidge. We've looked stellar against many teams, only to come out the following week and get absolutely stomped by a team who is actually competent.
We look weak and inexperienced. This team is not physically imposing in the least. We will be lucky to win an SEC game this year. It’s just the reality.
With that said, glad to see us winning the game.[/QUOTE

Wrong
With all the freshmen we are playing, we are basically a high school team as well.I want to agree but we're basically playing against a high school team in terms of skill/talent. If we can whine about losing games, we can celebrate winning. Pump the brakes on what? Nobody is saying we are Atlanta bound. I think most are happy to see the defense lined up correctly, winning the turnover battle, not getting stupid penalties, not looking flat, and not getting run gashed by an inferior team. This place will meltdown the next time we lose so I will be enjoying any wins until then.I want to agree but we're basically playing against a high school team in terms of skill/talent. The defense has looked on point the entire day. The best they have looked in years. Feels good to see progress.
I know somebody on here is dying to say "but it's ETSU" and that is true but we have looked horrible against teams of the same talent for a while now. It's nice the needle moving in the right direction and we should enjoy it.
ETSU is no where near as talented as other teams. They are basically a new program with basically sightly advanced HS players. We should demolish them, and that's what we are supposed to see. They are getting paid to be a practice team for us. Hopefully we work on some issues and get some experience. That being said, I'm glad the team isn't disappointing. Tennessee will still be smaller and underwhelming in stature. Improving yes, but 6 months doesn't complete a change in body. If it did, early enrollees would look like 4 year players at fall camp. They need more time in the gym and bigger players recruited and such before Tennessee looks comparable to aL and gA.
