A Decommital

I don't get why we took the commitment in the first place. Butch knew we were in on a bunch of higher rated prospects.

Sometimes offers are made for political reasons/moves... this could have been one of those and Rocky let CBJ off the hook while still providing the possible side benefits...

Blair looked awesome in Juco too. How'd he work out this year? Kamara couldn't beat out the other freshman RB's that Bama had brought in his class. He's far from a sure thing. Everyone was excited about 4 star Scott too.

Waste a scholarship on a punk? Just about every coach takes players with questionable issues. I'm not knocking Butch for that.

I just find it comical that everyone overlooks these little issues because Kamara is a Vol. Others had subtle bashing comments about Reid because he decommits. The fact remains there is 1 quality back on the roster. It would not hurt to take all 4. Two or so would likely pan out and the others can transfer.

Reid decommitted. He wasn't run off. Butch may still be after him.

What does Blair have to do with Reid or if I mentioned Patterson? Every player stands on their own. Point is Kamara has openly talked about his mistakes and what he learned. Bama did not want him to leave and he did what he had to at the Juco level. Go watch his film and you will understand all the excitement.

I guess I'm a little bit old fashioned (likely understatement). I'd like to think the CBJ & Staff saw something special in this young man or he wouldn't been offered a scholarship. While I understand a player's desire to come in and make an immediate impact, I also want players who have the courage of their convictions that they are equal to the task regardless of the competition. Whether Rocky Reid decommitted because, upon consideration, Tennessee was not a good fit or whether he just wanted to give his decision some more thought, I wish him well. If he ultimately decides that Tennessee is the place for him and he can contribute, then Rocky Top Reid he will be. In this day and time, I've tried not to get overly pumped about a player until that player signs on the dotted line. It's a lot more complicated out there than there used to be.

How can you guys remain so calm?!?! Butch Jones just lost us a 3 star commit! You can have all the 4 star and 5 star divas you can handle, but for me give me all the 3 star under the radar prospects possible. They just "want it more" and its the 3 stars who form the heart and backbone of any program. I mean, he could have easily become our 4th string running back! He would have been invaluable to our team's practices for the next 5 years. This is a mammoth loss, and I don't know how we can regroup. Butch is burning down this program, and you guys don't seem to care. Feelings matter guys, 3 stars matter!!!!!

It's not Jones' fault, these kids wake up in a different world every day. We want players that want to be Vols. Troll. :nono:

I believe someone's sarcasm meter is broken
Could be a blue font issue.

Either way someone is not getting it

LOL just a few days ago Reid was the saviour when Scott was leaving. Members couldn't say enough great things about him. Now all of a sudden he's not worthy. We don't need him.

A lot of folks putting some serious faith in Kamara.

OK. You're right in stating "a lot of folks are putting some serious faith in Kamara." How 'bout you review vids on all four of these guys, and I think you'll agree that even though Reid's a talented RB, he'd clearly rate 4th in the group, with Kamara clearly showing the most ability to immediately make an impact. Just take the time to check them all out. Fair enough? When I saw "decommitment" (really, not a bad word...you should see some I've articulated), I was relieved to see it was Rocky Reid, as losing Kamara would definitely be bad news. Now if Love wanted to join in the Big Orange party, or if Paulk wanted to come back, I wouldn't mind it one bit.

:loco:What? No blue fonts? Hey, bud...either you're past due to see your therapist, or you've just typed up a stereotypical troll post. Preferring lower evaluated 3 star (average) high schoolers to 4 star and 5 star "divas?" This is a "Mammoth loss?" That's a bellylaugh!:wink2:

I never saw much potential in Scott, myself.

It's more fun without the blue font.

A Mammoth loss indeed but I don't think we will have a melt down on VOL NATION when a big old mean nasty ugly OL or DL will take his place, a mammoth loss indeed.:eek:lol::

Hurd, Kamara, Berry, Bussey, and Perry. Maybe someone else coming were looking fine at the position. Gonna be a lot of good and bad news from now to signing day. We just have to see where we are when it is all said and done.

Abernathy will be eligible next year the transfer from Cincinnati.
